As I continue to practice, one thing has remained a key focus, establishing a therapeutic relationship & trust.
One of my greatest joys, is helping individuals, couples and families learn to manage the various, yet often unavoidable, stresses of life. Our days are packed with work, school, family, and relationships. We come home depleted and then it starts all over again the next day. Feelings of anxiety, panic, depression, anger, and/or lack of motivation, are inevitable. So it grieves my heart when clients ask what's wrong with them. So while we may need to "power through" certain situations, I help my clients develop strategies that are tailor made to their circumstances and personality, to successfully complete the marathon of life.

A central concept of my philosophy is helping each client with their relationship with their self, especially in terms of their beliefs about themselves.
I have a long history of helping people make changes that lead to significant improvement in self-regard and the ability to function and thrive. One of my favorite aspects of being a therapist is the genuine, experience-based optimism that my practice history allows me to bring to meeting with clients. I enjoy working with clients of all ages with a variety of presenting issues including self-esteem and life struggles such as relationship conflicts, grief, loss and transitions such as divorce. I also enjoy helping people with depression, anxiety disorders (including panic disorder, phobias, and PTSD), and ADHD.

Relationships of any kind can cause pain and confusion. It's hard to know what went wrong or why cycles of toxic relationships keep happening. People are drawn to loved ones for caring support. When these relationships become hurtful, it is common to feel isolated, trapped in your own home, and desperately needing clarity and peaceful stability. While the pain is real, there is great joy in taking steps towards healthier relationships. You deserve all the trust, encouragement, and companionship that positive people can bring to your life.

Growing up isn't easy. Today's adolescents experience more stress, expectations, and worries than ever. My passion is helping people who are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, which can lead to depressive/anxious symptoms, and poor coping skills. I bring compassion, honesty, and humor into our sessions, creating a safe, trusting space. I believe in the resiliency everyone has to work through challenges. I include parents and the child in our work, a crucial piece for consistency in communication, and navigating the increasing stressors kids face. On a personal note, I'm also a mom, and can empathize with daily demands of family life.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
