As a culturally skilled LCPC and Professional School Counselor, I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families from all walks of life in a person-centered and collaborative environment. I believe that simply accepting that you have emotional needs that you require help with is half the battle won, and the other half is confronting them. It's my goal to work with my clients and give them the courage to address the challenges that face them - and to guide them on a path to happiness.

I help people who are in pain and/or feel stuck heal their pain and move forward to reach their definition of success. I work with multiple issues such as women's issues, depression, grief and loss, major life changes, past traumatic experiences, and ongoing stress. From a positive caring position I create a safe and supportive environment conductive for healing and growth. My primary goal is to help you feel better as quickly as possible.

Using a holistic approach, I aim to assist the client who seeks body, mind, spirit balance and a desire to live more fully in their moments. Whether seeking help for wellness, transition, anxiety, spirituality, and/or addiction, together sessions at Wholistic Care will help the individual gain hope and understanding to help resolve issue(s) and move toward finding purpose and meaning in life.

Helene Jacques is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor who has been in practice since 2000. She sees adolescents and adults for individual and family therapy. Helene has extensive experience working with clients dealing with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, adoption concerns, relationship problems, stress management, medical and health concerns, and post-abortion issues. Helene was trained in an eclectic model of therapy and relies on this knowledge base to select effective treatment approaches for each client or family.

I believe in creating lasting relationships with clients where they feel welcome and open to discussing their needs and wants. In making a connection, I believe in a kind, interactive and non-judgmental approach to listening that allows clients to feel cared for and heard.

With a comfortable match up of therapist and client, both of us work towards understanding the challenges you face, getting some clarity about what can be changed, and learning how to take action. Getting comfortable involves feeling listened to and understood by me and developing trust that I will be knowledgeable about your subject and I will be supportive and non judgmental in this therapeutic relationship.

I believe in helping people find a balance in their lives. Helping navigate the need for challenging insights and how to use that knowledge to change their response to life and the things that might come; a pivot if you will. My unique life/work experiences have enhanced my ability to understand others and guide them through life's challenges. I started as a first responder and in a lot of ways I never stopped being one; just learned to put out different fires.

I believe that life is a journey, full of joys and disappointments, successes and setbacks. While the extent and nature of my interventions may vary, I strongly believe that all people possess the personal strength and the means to improve their own lives if provided with the necessary guidance and support.

I am currently a LSW and PsyD Clinical Psychology Doctoral Candidate. I obtained my Masters in social work at Fordham University in New York and I am pursuing my doctorate at California Southern University. I am excited to be working with a team of highly skilled Therapists.
