I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services that span from therapy for depression and grief counseling to parenting support, couples counseling and beyond.
As a Solution-Focused therapist specializing in Health Psychology, our goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary therapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be holding you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life. If you're looking for extra support and guidance through a challenging situation, let's work together.

My area of expertise is such that I am equipped to work with clients struggling with a multitude of issues, such as depression, anxiety, anger. These emotional issues might be precipitated by stressors in the client's life, such as loss of a job, marital conflict, financial strain. Sometimes people feel unhappy or anxious, with no identifiable reason. By using an approach to treatment that actively helps to lessen negative feelings I aide people in living a more productive life.

My special areas of interest include depressive and anxiety disorders, trauma, grief and loss, adjustment to illness and life transitions.
Reaching out for help takes courage. It means you’re able to admit that you don’t have all the answers and have the strength to acknowledge you’re struggling. It’s ok if you don’t know where to begin. We can start with where you are and together work toward where you want to be. I view therapy as an integrative and collaborative process that is grounded in the human capacity for change. The goal of our therapeutic alliance is to develop insight and transformative growth to allow for healing, resulting in a more enriched and abundant life. I believe it is during our most vulnerable moments that we are most open to insight and change

I view therapy as a journey for self-exploration and positive change. In sessions, I work as a teammate and motivator for my clients to reach their goals and improve their quality of life. My success in helping clients comes from gaining a deeper understanding about client experiences, thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In addition, I help clients seek awareness about how their emotional experiences impact their biological health and functioning.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
