Life can be stressful particularly in these unpredictable times. You may be finding that worries are hard to turn off during the day and also keep you up at night. Perhaps you are becoming irritable with your family, friends or coworkers. Or rather than feeling anxious you might be noticing that you are often tired. You might have less interest in attending the extended family party or going out with your partner. I can help you to get a handle on your worries, regain energy, and to feel more grounded and able to manage what comes your way.

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.” - Buddha. Are your thoughts racing constantly? Do you often find yourself believing the negative thoughts? Many people find it difficult to escape their inner negative dialogue, which often become a part of our behavioral patterns. I am a clinical psychologist who has over 14 years experience working with individuals, couples, and families struggling to quiet their thoughts, change unproductive behavioral patterns, and determine the best direction forward in their lives.

Most come to therapy for relief from distress. While therapy can relieve this, it can also be the gateway to deeper self reflection & discovery that awakens new meaning in our lives. I strive to build a therapy that honors your unique preferences & personhood, focused on the power of exploring your own experiences, strengths, & values. I am passionate about challenging the systemic oppressions that do us harm, and creating compassionate practices of resistance in response. My specialties are in facilitating connection in relationship, cultivating radical self acceptance, & growing trust in both mind & body.

I regularly utilize IFS, EMDR, and healthy doses of humor to foster integrative healing.
Life’s stressors can gradually chip away at our spirit and energy, impacting our moods, physical health, sleep, and overall well-being. Whether the stress stems from feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, feeling stuck, or revisiting/reliving painful experience(s) - finding a path to relief often begins with identifying the root causes and exploring the mind-body connection. Gaining insight into these underlying factors can be a crucial first step towards feeling better.

Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward and Integrative approach and have our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Seeking a therapist is a positive step in your pursuit to feel better. As a trauma-informed therapist, I understand that trauma does not discriminate and may present in several different forms. Research has shown that both “big T” (a single, terrible event) and “little t” trauma (daily stressors) can block the brain’s ability to process distressing events and have a profoundly negative impact on emotional, psychological, physical and spiritual well-being. Both of these types of traumas can lead to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, addiction, phobias, relationship issues, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or more.

Integrative Therapists

What is integrative therapy?

Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.

How does integrative therapy work?

Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.

How long does integrative therapy last?

As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.

How effective is integrative therapy?

There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
