Our team of therapists bring years of therapy experience. We work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who are Deaf or come from Deaf families (includes hearing family/friends who sign). We provide a supportive, nurturing environment. We use a multimodal approach incorporating mind-body therapies with evidence-based treatments.

If you are stressed or depressed or working through a difficult time, it can be so helpful to have a safe, compassionate person to bounce things off of. I don't have all of the answers, but, after nearly 3 decades of experience, I have some of them. Using data-based techniques, I can help you correct unhelpful patterns and unlock answers within yourself. I love helping people live their best life.

I believe that I work best with clients who are invested in getting well. I work best with clients who want to do the hard work of exploring their emotional and somatic (body) reactions to life's stressors and people. This is not talk therapy. I use art, sandtray, EMDR. and Sensorimotor therapy to provide opportunities for updating coping skills and teaching clients how to regulate one's nervous system which in turn empowers a client to realize he/she/they can bring themselves to calm. You will learn what is triggering in both body memory and emotional memory which often keep you living in fear or anxiety.

Mental health is an essential and a basic part of overall health and wellbeing. All humans struggle at different times in our lives and experience hardships. During our lifespan on occasion we need assistance and a positive support system to work on goals and or help with presenting issues. Sometimes we need a set of new skills or tools, and or a soundboard to be heard and validated. My ideal patient is wanting to do the work and ready to make a positive change in their life.

As a mental health clinician, I work with clients on depression, anxiety, ADHD, anger management, grief, separation, parenting skills, communication, and family conflict. These clients come to therapy to improve their quality of life, and gain insight on how their thoughts, mood, and actions impact their overall goals. Therapy is a collaborative process involving both the client and clinician to establish a working relationship that is built on trust, compassion, and empowerment. You are the expert on yourself, and I am your guide through the process. Success comes from both of us working together as a team.

I specialize in treating issues related to addiction and recovery, anxiety, depression, codependency, self-esteem concerns, adjustment difficulties, anger, and stress management.
You don't have to be in a crisis to participate in therapy. Life can be complicated and overwhelming. Therapy can be a useful tool to help you safely explore, let go and free yourself of those thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that keep you stuck or cause you stress or discomfort. Processing these distressing experiences with a therapist can be very beneficial, healing, and transformative. Let's work together to release those limiting expectations, modify those fixed beliefs, and increase your ability to cope and function. Are you ready to become the best version of yourself and change your life for the better?

Anger, anxiety, depression, and relationship problems can be very challenging. When we blow-up, it’s usually on the people we care the most about. When our relationships aren’t good, it can impact nearly everything we do. When anxiety or depression becomes too much, you can feel as though you are lost or constantly overwhelmed. I specialize in helping people who are overcome by anger, struggling with their relationships, drowning in depression, and/or frozen by anxiety. People who reach out to me for support realize they're not living the life they want. They know they’re capable of more and want to fix their situation.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my MSW from the University of Northern Iowa in 2018, where I specialized in trauma processing and trauma-informed care. I am a trained EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist and work with depression, anxiety, anger management, and addiction, among other issues. I like to use an eclectic style in my treatment modalities, and I believe there is no “one-size-fits-all” in therapy. I think people are the experts on their own experiences, so I enjoy working with individuals to tailor their mental health services to meet their needs.

Are you doing okay today? Whether you are or are not, I believe that therapy must be a "you-centered" experience where control over your quality of life is regained, maintained, and enhanced. I regularly tell my clients that I am a human first and a therapist second, which serves as a reminder that my priority is building a human connection with you. Empathy is the most important tool I bring. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who believes in creating a compassionate, nurturing, and empathetic space where clients feel comfortable sharing their deepest thoughts, feelings, and life experiences.

How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.
How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.
Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.
What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
