I constantly find strengths to move forward in a positive direction. Emphasizing a cognitive behavioral approach (CBT) to overcome thought patterns, behaviors, and emotions. Some essential tools that assist in developing a peaceful mind are meditation and mindfulness.

My clinical experience includes working in a hospital setting, a refugee resettlement agency, and a college. While I have experience working with a variety of issues, I take a special interest in working with young adults, neurodivergence, trauma, family-of-origin issues, and multicultural experiences.

I have been in private practice for twenty-six years and work with individuals, couples, and families. In person and telehealth appointments are available. I work with children, adolescents and adults at every stage of their lives. I have a diverse practice and have greatly appreciated the diversity of my clients' life experience. I specialize in helping adults, couples, and families who are coping with challenging and complex relationships, life transitions, trauma and faith-related harm. I am a licensed clinical social worker with more than 20 years of experience in mental health and my goal is to meet the unique needs of each client. I enjoy working with clients to find clarity, repair relationships, and process trauma in order to gain better emotional, mental and spiritual health.

My passion is understanding stored childhood trauma and the long-term effects it can have on adults; particularly as it relates to addiction issues. Unresolved traumatic experiences very often render a person with feelings of anxiety and depression; particularly for those who were never given the appropriate tools and support to process their trauma. These emotional states can lead to poor coping skills in our efforts to meet life’s challenges, and very often anxiety and depression can lead us to feeling incapable of helping ourselves or ever changing our circumstances and clearly seeing our potential.

I feel strongly in the ability to make positive changes in our lives. People strive to make connections, needing to be seen and heard. I enjoy working with people who are facing life transitions, including college/work, parenting, empty nest and retirement. I enjoy helping people find new or revised purposes in life. I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health and am devoted to helping those facing issues specific to this very unique time of life including postpartum depression/anxiety, birth trauma, NICU and subsequent pregnancies after dealing with these struggles.

Hello, my name is Jessica- I am a licensed clinical professional counselor.
