Inasmuch as we all face suffering in various forms throughout our lives, the good news is that there is hope for healing, and we don't have to go it alone. If you are experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, marital, relationship, and/or parenting issues, the effects of trauma, loneliness, addictive/compulsive behaviors, are struggling with a life transition or with pastoral/leadership challenges, are desiring support in your spiritual journey, or perhaps are simply unsure of where to turn, I would be grateful for the opportunity to journey with you toward the abundant life you were created for in Christ (Jn 10:10).

I work with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking help for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship conflicts, parenting, eating disorders, and codependency. I tend to combine treatment approaches (i.e. cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, psychodynamic) to fit the need of the client. I see my role as coming alongside each individual on their walk of life, and feel privileged to be invited into the personal space of my clients.

I believe trust is the foundation for a successful therapeutic relationship.
I believe that understanding one's perception is essential to understanding one's thoughts, feelings and behaviors. In order to make positive changes, it is very important to understand how one perceives experiences and the reasons why. Therefore, I feel that increased self-awareness and personal growth are integral parts of the counseling process.

I am also certified in the field of addictions and can help you sort out whether or not you want to make any changes in your relationship to substances or other process habits or behaviors.
Do you feel stuck and hear yourself saying things like "I've always been this way, it's too late"; "I can't say no"; "There's something wrong with me"; "They'll think I'm selfish"? Together we'll look at beliefs that may be preventing you from experiencing the life you want. I serve as a guide, helping you to clarify your values and goals, identify barriers, and maximize your strengths. You'll practice the skills of observing and accepting yourself, while generating options and making decisions in line with your values and what matters most to you.

I approach the therapeutic relationship from a client-centered lens with an integrative treatment approach. This means that I work with each client to develop a unique treatment plan to address their specific needs. I do not utilize a one size fits all approach and I believe that the client is just as important in this process as the therapist is. I examine all aspects of a client’s perspective including the systems that impact them. Treating the whole person is an important aspect for me in my therapeutic engagement with clients. I believe that every person has value and is worthy of kindness.

Relationship Issues Therapists
While need for human connection appears to be innate, the ability to form healthy, loving relationships is learned. Some evidence suggests that the ability to form a stable relationship starts to form in infancy, in a child's earliest experiences with a caregiver who reliably meets the infant's needs for food, care, warmth, protection, stimulation, and social contact. Such relationships are not destiny, but they are theorized to establish deeply ingrained patterns of relating to others. The end of a relationship, however, is often a source of great psychological anguish.
