Hello, I'm Michelle Ferris, a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with a deep passion for helping individuals heal and providing LGBTQ+ affirming care. My journey in therapy is all about empowerment, resilience, and celebrating the unique qualities that make you, you.

Making the decision to seek therapy, and finding the right provider for yourself are big steps on the path to healthy change. I do not take for granted the meaning a therapeutic relationship can have and see the work as a privilege. Like any healthy relationship, the therapeutic connection has to be rooted in trust. Although I have worked in agencies, hospitals and group practices, I think some of my best training has come from navigating a 24 year marriage, raising kids, and launching them into adulthood. Traumatic events are painful and often result in wounds that can't be seen. I believe that understanding trauma and how trauma has affected you is the first step in healing from trauma. You don’t have to do this alone. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults – those who have experienced trauma and those who may be struggling with stress, anxiety, or depression. In addition, I also work with families experiencing separation or divorce. My goal is to help families effectively communicate while you try to figure out the emotional, physical, and custodial stressors that often accompany a divorce.
