I'll work hard with you to attain your goals. I have helped many clients manage their feelings like sadness, worry, anger, improve their self-control, or improving their relationships. I am passionate about working with children, adolescents and young adults that are struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, self-esteem, ADHD, transitions and behavior concerns.
Stop waiting for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now. "“ Lucy Sutcliffe The thought of going to therapy generally leaves people feeling that they are weak or unable to solve problems on their own. When in reality, the majority of people that are seeking therapy are ordinary people that are dealing with ordinary, everyday issues that life throws at us.

I have worked closely with clients who had anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, self-harm, anger, grief/loss, ADHD, gender dysphoria, relationship issues, and trauma.
I am here to provide a safe and empathetic space for you to feel comfortable "opening up," and to support you as you make things in your life better. I enjoy listening and learning about each person's unique realities and perspectives. I am honored to be allowed to share in your thoughts, ideas, and issues. I hope to be a companion who can help you through your difficult times and celebrate in your best moments. Together, we can work through behaviors that may no longer be serving you in your present day life that may have had a purpose in the past.

Let's be real. Therapy can be scary! Sitting in front of a total stranger and sharing your deepest and possibly even darkest thoughts can sound terrifying. Well, I can definitely reassure you that, yes, while therapy can be scary, if your therapist is able to create a warm environment, making you feel seen and heard, it can very quickly become an appointment we look forward to! My goal is to make sure my therapy room is a judgement- free, safe space for my clients. I love using an eclectic, scientific- based and holistic approach to therapy.

Change can be difficult, particularly when you are struggling with the stressors of life. Therapy can seem daunting when you already have so much going on. However, it does not have to be. Psychotherapy can help you clarify thinking, gain insight into past experiences that may be adversely impacting current circumstances, develop a plan, and increase your ability to handle and cope with the challenges of life. I have helped many people make the changes they needed to improve their mood, relationships, and overall functioning.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
