Life can be hard, painful, confusing, scary, and challenging. Events happen that leave us reeling with brokenness, grief, disbelief, guilt, fear, insecurity, and shame. We don't know what to do or which way to turn or how we got here in the first place. We may hold onto false beliefs about our self-worth, negative thoughts that tear us apart, relationships that are toxic, and behaviors that are destructive. All in an attempt to somehow alleviate how we are feeling. I am here to partner with you in working towards wholeness and healing and to empower you to move forward, happily and confidently.

Beginning the process of counseling can be a very different type of experience. Allowing oneself to be vulnerable enough to discuss personal and sometimes traumatic topics about one’s life is not always an easy task. As someone who has been in counseling, myself, I understand how difficult it can be to take that first step. This is why I became a counselor. I understand that faith can be an important part of one’s life and am able to integrate concepts of faith into counseling, based on each individual’s preference. I also realize that some wish to focus solely on therapeutic concepts and want to engage you where you are.

My ideal client is a client who’s looking for support and guidance on addressing current or past struggles so they can live and joyful and abundant life. The client is willing to do the hard work by setting goals for themselves according to what they would like to accomplish. Also, knowing what their “why” is so that they can find the purpose in growth.

Change, like healing takes time. We only have so much time and energy in our lives. What we do with it is a gift. As a Christian therapist, my desire is to help my clients use their precious time and energy towards healing and enjoying their life as God intended. I believe in walking hand-in-hand with my clients as they are restored and embrace new change individually and in their relationships. I enjoy working with and supporting individuals, adolescents, teens, couples, and families in a relaxed and secure environment that facilitates personal and relational growth.

Connection matters; we weren't meant to go through life's hurts and challenges alone. Oftentimes we get this connection through friends and family, but sometimes we need more than that. Sometimes it feels as though we are stuck in the spot we are in without hope of things changing. I understand that it's difficult to take that step towards counseling. My heart is to create a space to feel heard, understood, and to gain hope as we walk through those stuck points together.

No one is meant to go through this life alone, although it may feel this way. If you have been struggling lately with situations, events, or mental health symptoms, you are in the right place. You’ve taken the first step in looking for a counselor, and many times that can be the hardest step. My passion is supporting my clients through person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapies and empowering my clients with the necessary tools they need to succeed. I incorporate client interests, such as reading, music, sports, art, and writing, into our sessions to best support clients as they are working through the therapeutic process.

If you're looking for a counselor, chances are life's been rough for you lately. Maybe tasks for work or school have become overwhelming or some of your relationships have been collapsing. Our society has had more than its fair share of tense and even volatile events especially in the last few years, and those traumatic events certainly can affect us on a personal level.

I focus on "whole person" coaching. An Integrative approach to finding and maintaining new habits in various areas of your life that lead to a better version of yourself. I do not diagnose or treat mental health. I'm a life coach and a holistic health coach. I coach clients on nutrition, relationships, overall wellness, etc.

It's not easy to talk to a stranger about the things that make us feel most vulnerable. It's difficult to hope that things could be better or to believe that we could be loved or accepted once we are fully known. I work with my clients in an atmosphere of respect, believing the best things for you that you cannot see right now, working together towards the goals that you courageously speak out loud. After 15 years in practice, I have seen so many people find freedom from the fears and symptoms that hold them back and it brings me great joy and honor to walk beside them as they heal.

Not a single one of our lives has escaped pain, hurt, rejection, loss, or other traumatic events. It’s a part of the world we live in; a part we cannot evade. Each generation, the trauma becomes more complex, as it builds on the previous generation’s unresolved trauma. It presents itself as depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleeplessness, trouble concentrating, self-destructive behaviors (including addiction), physical illness, overwhelming guilt or shame, and the inability to form healthy relationships. But it doesn’t have to continue. You can loosen the hold that it has on your life. You can end the cycle of generational trauma.
