I believe therapy is an opportunity to create a new path toward living a meaningful life. Often struggles or hardships we experience push us into following old patterns that may not fit our values or how we want to effectively live our lives. It can also be space to understand how we can be more fulfilled or effective in our many roles. I specialize in treating trauma and whether the event happened a month ago, or 20 years ago, there are effective, evidence-based strategies we can use to grow beyond that harm. I also enjoy working with people in the areas of self-esteem, anxiety, attachment, relationships, & LGBTQIA+ issues.

I primarily approach therapy through the lenses of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Client-Centered Therapy. My approach to healing integrates genuineness, empathy, validation, humor, and unconditional acceptance. I emphasize a collaborative approach to help clients identify their own unique goals and values, personal strengths, and abilities to implement the change they want. I also work with clients to challenge counterproductive behavioral patterns, address negative thoughts, and foster acceptance of unavoidable life factors that contribute to feeling “stuck” and away from the present moment.

Many people go through times when they have trouble with even the simple tasks in life. Relationships, work, family and life purpose can become overwhelming at times. Our experienced team of therapists has been helping clients achieve their best self, better relationships, and a more balanced life since 2012. The more common struggles we help clients overcome are anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship problems, and parenting challenges. If you have been wrestling with these or other issues, we are here to help. We work with older kids (8+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Most of our therapists are EMDR trained (EMDRIA approved) and also use other effective approaches including CBT, DBT, and systemic approaches.

I believe that we all have an inherent ability to heal deeply, oftentimes we just need a safe environment to begin to open and step on this healing journey. When we realize that disoriented parts of ourselves cause imbalance and problems, the awareness itself leads the way to becoming whole and come home to ourselves. As we move through the story of life in time and space, we carry the past to the present and the present to the future. Our bodies – physical and subtle hold so much of our stories beneath the surface. My goal, using somatic-based approaches, is to help you reattune to our existential wisdom and bring lasting change.

I think of life as a cross-country road trip taking us on an adventure. The adventure can be exciting but also scary at times. We make choices on where we wish to go. However, the ride can be smooth or shaky and take us through dark tunnels, across bridges, rivers, and hills. I'm your assistant navigator offering support, encouragement, empowerment, but also challenging you forward towards your chosen destination(s).
