When working with couples, I draw from both the Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
Have you been struggling with managing the changes life has dealt to you? I have worked with individuals from six months to ninety-eight years old, couples, and groups of individuals to support them in their life changes and help them address their needs through therapeutic interventions. My approach to therapy relies on the ability to create safety and developing a strong therapeutic alliance with you. I view this alliance as the vehicle for change that you are looking for. I want to work to meet you where you are at, so that you feel understood and heard in your experience.

I work with couples using the Gottman method, and I use several tools that I have learned over the years to address the particular needs of each client I work with.
Do you feel lost, questioning who you are or where you're going with no easy answers? Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, we hit a bottom, or we just realize that something in us is different...or something must change. Such times of confusion and crisis are often the meeting point for our work together. They are also openings to self-discovery and real change. I listen deeply for what you want, develop a relationship of trust, and work WITH you to establish the clarity and direction you need.

The Gottman Method of Relationship Therapy is a research based, down to earth approach to relationships and couple therapy.
Most of my clients, both individuals and couples, come to me seeking to have their perspectives understood, so they can better understand themselves and their relationships. As this occurs, they are able to significantly improve the quality of their lives. I seek to create an atmosphere that promotes respect, understanding, responsibility, compassion, and creativity as people strive to live their lives consciously in ways that help them achieve the goals most important to them. To this end, I strive to have the utmost respect for the uniqueness of every individual and couple that I treat.

As a Relational/ Experiential therapist, my approach integrates core tenants of Emotionaly Focused Individual/ Couples Therapy and The Gottman Method to bring both deeper emotional insight and practical skills-building into the work.
Our quality of life improves dramatically as we learn to show up more authentically in our personal relationships. We can always cultivate more meaningful connections, whether in an intimate partnership, biological or chosen family, or friendships. I understand how creating change can feel daunting or overwhelming and is best navigated with intentionality and solid support. Actively collaborating with my clients, I ensure that together, we set clear and attainable goals and that each session moves you closer to achieving your vision. Change is Possible!

I have completed Level 1 training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and use this method in my work with couples.
I am passionate about helping adult individuals and couples build connection, and more satisfying, healthy relationships, through addressing sex and intimacy issues; addiction, codependency, and the impacts of trauma. Together, we may untangle patterns of intimacy avoidance, attachment wounds, betrayal trauma, parentification, and emotional or covert incest. I believe healing occurs within relationship through collaboration, curiosity, and respect. I support this value in practice by working through a trauma-informed, multicultural lens, with a sex-positive/kink-affirming approach to intimacy, relationship, and sexual wellness.

I hold my PMH-C (perinatal mental health certification), am certified in Gottman Method level 1 and 2, am a SafeZone ally, and EMDR.
Everyone's therapy needs are different! I take a collaborative, non-judgmental approach to honor those unique needs. I believe I have a responsibility as a therapist to create a safe, supportive, open environment where clients feel empowered to take an active role in their therapy process. When working with clients on concerns including anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship concerns, trauma, parenting, and work/school concerns I focus on patterns within and across generations of families, balance between connectedness and individuality, and increasing your ability to cope with and tolerate stress.

I integrate complementary approaches such as psychodynamic, trauma-informed, dialectic behavior and/or Gottman Method, depending on the client's need.
When individuals or couples first come in to see me, they are often anxious, depressed or scared. They may feel confused or uncertain about the future. Coping skills that used to work "OK" no longer seem to be sufficient. Some people can point to a specific cause or event, but others find it difficult to identify or talk about underlying concerns - particularly if they have endured a trauma. Therapy offers a warm, safe and compassionate space for exploration of feelings that can be too difficult or too heavy to hold without support.

I deeply value the unique journey of every individual and couple I work with. I believe that understanding your own story and experiences can be transformative, and I’m here to support you in that process. My goal is to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel safe and understood, respecting your identity and choices throughout our work together. While I draw from various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioral, person centered, strength based, solution-focused, and Gottman method for couples therapy, I frequently use the EMDR approach to address and resolve various distressing experiences.

I am trained in Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.
Life can sometimes feel difficult and overwhelming, but you don’t have to go through it alone. Allow me to support you in finding ways to feel safe, understood, and able to move forward. I believe that our emotions, especially the uncomfortable ones, provide us with important information about our needs and where we should be headed. My aim is to empower my clients to trust their inner wisdom, rebuild their sense of self, and feel more connected to those around them. In sessions, we’ll spend time talking about everyday stressors, but we’ll also look to identify patterns and dynamics that have ongoing influence in your life.

I am a licensed clinical social worker who obtained my Masters in Social Work from Loyola University of Chicago. I am passionate about working with individuals and partnerships to assist them in uncovering strengths and building skills to navigate relationships with themselves and others. I especially enjoy working with folks who are pursuing therapy for the first time. I became a clinical social worker because of my fascination for the human experience and all its nuances. I am honored to walk alongside folks in the space that therapy creates that doesn’t exist anywhere else. When you sit down for a session, you are the sole focus.
