As a therapist focused on personal growth, I strive to make clients feel that I am part of their extended family.
"A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step." Ancient Chinese philosopher, Lao-Tzu. Let's face it: asking for help isn't always easy, but you've taken the courage to do so. Therapy is an exciting experience of self-discovery! As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I work with adults, individually or as couples. I use a bilateral approach, incorporating a Strength-based practice with a focus on the mind/body connection, in particular Mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT). I assist clients in noticing, when automatic processes are occurring & to alter their reaction to be more of a reflection.

Hello, Beautiful Soul! I am here to assist you in becoming the best ‘you’ that you can be. I have a passion to serve the youth as many issues we face in childhood can continue into adulthood. Experience is a great teacher. However, sometimes we get stuck. Just because you think it, doesn’t make it true. I am a firm believer that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I work with a wide range of issues from family dysfunction, trauma, and gender identity. As your therapist, I strive to create a safe space and a judgment free zone to allow you to grow boundlessly.

I have always been LGBTQ allied and also have experience providing family and individual counseling to adolescents.
My goal as a therapist is to create a safe space where clients who have been traumatized and marginalized are allowed to share their stories and feelings. My therapy office is a judgment free zone where you will receive validation, support, and practical ways to manage difficult thoughts and experiences. I have had success counseling survivors of complex trauma, girls and women of all ages, and those that have felt marginalized and invalidated by their experience in the world. I am real and love to use humor in session when appropriate!

Hi! I'm Rachel. I graduated from Northwestern University in 2014 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology specializing in Child and Adolescent Psychology. I have been trained in EMDR, worked with trauma in the inner-city of Chicago and am very well versed in this department. I am LGBTQI affirming. My clients have said I have a warm presence. My therapeutic approach is client-centered- I use expressive/art therapy techniques, focus on internal family systems and parts work (essentially looking at oneself through a lens of functional parts, some more at the forefront than others). I offer free 15 min consultations.

I offer individual, couples and family counseling.
In my work, I like to combine short-term approaches that will help you figure out how to feel better now with long-term approaches designed to take a closer look at some repeating patterns and their origins to bring lasting changes to your life. Most clients I see in my practice experience some sort of dissatisfaction in their relationships. This could significantly impact their life satisfaction. Whether it is a relationship with a romantic partner, parent, friend or boss, there are always ways to make changes in order to bring more happiness into your life however challenging this task might be.

You deserve to get more out of life and your relationships than just surviving each day. Making the decision to seek support from a professional is the first and most important step toward positive growth. With careful consideration of your own needs, and a therapists experience and expertise; you can begin to evolve. As a clinician, I believe that each person has the answers that they seek and as your counselor my role is to help support self-discovery, facilitate increased personal insight and work together with you to accomplish your goals, whatever they may be.

I hold a master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and am pursuing a doctoral degree in Art Therapy.
Every individual carries their own inner wounds that need to be dealt with. When we are empathetically understood and listened to, we discover our hidden strengths as resources and are empowered to understand better and relate to ourselves and those around us. When we see our rigid patterns from multiple angles, we have a greater capacity to understand situations we find ourselves in more objective ways. I create a compassionate and healing space where empathy guides our work toward understanding and growth. I have been working with depression, anxiety, and relationship issues.

My belief that all people deserve meaningful opportunity and satisfaction in life defined my 15-year career helping adolescents, young adults, adults, families, and parents overcome barriers to wide range of goals. I serve clients with a variety of needs stemming from disability, depression, anxiety, trauma, parenting/caregiver roles, family of origin, substance use, and vocational exploration. I see value in finding meaning in difficult life experiences to inform new ways of understanding ourselves and engaging others, and I believe people benefit most when equipped with the tools, knowledge, and care to author their own stories.
