In our therapy sessions, you'll be provided with a safe space where you can face your fears, shed tears, celebrate your achievements, and heal your heart. I invite you to take off “the mask” you wear for the world and get to know the narrative you've become familiar with so we can better understand the obstacles constraining you. The journey to a healthy mental state and peace of mind is possible when we allow ourselves to gradually work towards becoming the best version of ourselves.

I utilize a Relational approach, to help adults identify patterns of relationships throughout their lives while identifying positive support systems.

Let's start with honoring life... Due to my extensive background and years of professional experience, I am comfortable working with children, youth, adults, couples, and families. I started my training/experience with children and continued servicing all ages. I have worked in many venues of service: mental health, medical, educational, hospice, trauma, supervisory, administrative... providing services to people facing situations that are unknown or a challenge to them. Depression, anxiety (and all the features associated with these two diagnostics), as well as relational and other life issues, are areas that I service.

My experience has allowed me to work with people from all over the world with both chronic and minor mental health concerns. As a clinician I have worked with people who have depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, (PTSD)trauma and a history of family violence. My approach is primarily cognitive behavioral with a significant emphasis on the person's present. Those who would benefit are people who are looking at moving forward with their life with more deliberation and direction. Moving away from seeing themselves as the result of their circumstances but as the master of their being.

The future feels uncertain and we are more anxious or depressed. We are busy with long "to do" lists, yet feel lonely and disconnected from others. We rely more on partners/spouses to meet our needs or simply avoid them by scrolling on our phones. Our children are caught up on social media and we worry about their chances for happiness and success. How do we manage what feels overwhelming and outside our control? How do we find time to think? Therapy is a space to slow it down and make needed changes. I will help you quiet the racing thoughts and create a better understanding of who you are and what you want in your life.

People seek out a counselor who can guide them--or their child--past their struggles to a better life. They want to get better sooner and stay better longer. For over 20 years, I have had the privilege of helping hundreds of adults, children and adolescents move past problems and achieve their goals --and to make those improvements stick. Some clients face coping with frustration, depression, anxiety, or relationship and family problems. For others, it's dealing with transitions such as divorce, loss and grief, school or relationship challenges, medical problems or job loss. And clients deserve great service.

In individual therapy, I emphasize a short-term, time-sensitive approach that is problem focused. During troublesome periods in our lives, powerful ideas about ourselves or about the world can become activated that result in our feeling anxious, sad or depressed. Relief comes from replacing these notions with a more realistic perception of our circumstances and ourselves. A principal goal of this approach is assist clients to learn how to become their own therapist, thereby preventing relapse and decreasing dependence on therapy or when appropriate medications.

Hello, I'm Dr. Eiliana! I am happy you're here. I’m passionate about working with truama, anxiety, depression, grief + loss, relationship concerns, and self-esteem. I have learned that many of us are dealing with some sort of trauma in our lives, whether big or small. Trauma can have lasting effects that negatively impact your everyday life. For example, trauma may leave you feeling anxious, depressed, or with low self-esteem. It may also be impacting your ability to maintain healthy relationships. What is trauma? Trauma includes the more obvious, stressful and overwhelming events in our lives that we are all familiar with.

We have been trained to work with a variety of issues-Depression, Anger, Anxiety (group and individual formats), Bipolar disorder, Trauma, Child and Adolescent work (males and females), Sexual Abuse, Play Therapy, Family therapy, Cultural issues (adapting to the western culture), and Gay/Lesbian family issues.
Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

If you would like to explore ways to lighten the weight of past trauma or explore ways to reduce anxiety and panic, please reach out!.
Many people feel that difficult or painful experiences have the power to define them, or that it may have damaged them permanently. I aim to help my clients recognize that difficult situations will not ‘destroy’ or ‘define’ them, and instead help them regain some control in deciding who they are and the path they want to take. I believe in utilizing therapy to help my clients recognize their own personal story and growth. I provide support and tools for my clients to use along the way, drawing from a wide toolbox of therapy approaches, including EMDR.

In periods of overwhelming feelings and emotions, we might find ourselves consumed by the noise in our minds. Whether the noise is negative thoughts of the past, present, or future, it all can become so loud that we lose sight of what’s important to us. We lose sight of our resilience, values, present moment, others around us, or even ourselves. We might even find ourselves feeling and behaving inconsistently to who we are or want to be during these periods that we might call anxiety or depression. As your therapist, I will support you in understanding and learning how to respond to these experiences.

Anxiety Therapists

What are the most common treatments for anxiety?

Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?

The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

When should I seek treatment for anxiety?

Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?

Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
