The decision to seek therapy is positive and courageous! It is important to find the right therapist to help you with your problems. I take an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy which is client centered and goal driven. I create a safe and non-judgmental space where we work together to solve problems, overcome obstacles, and facilitate personal and relational growth. I assess the biological, psychological and social aspects of a person, couple or family, using a balance of approaches that are attachment based and include insight-oriented and cognitive behavior therapies to treat depression/anxiety, grief, trauma, etc.

Sometimes it seems like life's challenges are a weight that you carry around all of the time. You wonder what would be possible if you weren't held back by fear, sadness, self-doubt or perfectionism. You feel tired of looking to others to validate you, of taking care of others, or of not being able to communicate effectively. Maybe you wonder what it would be like to live well in the midst of hard circumstances. You want a safe environment to explore and process these struggles and to be able to manage these challenges in a healthy and productive way. You long for personal growth and healing.

In our contemporary society it is easy to be content and even glad for medications that soothe symptoms, but healing comes from working through our underlying inner conflicts in a textured human relationship in which we can feel what we truly feel and become who we truly are. I believe distressful symptoms, whether depression, anxiety, anger, hurt, a sense of meaninglessness, a sense of emptiness, addictions, or behavior problems are signs. They are signs that it is time to grow our mindfulness of our underlying needs, feelings, and thereby gain choices for living more contently within our communities and families.

Has your avoidance of vulnerability kept you from feeling truly known and connected? Do you struggle to constructively communicate what you need from the important people in your life? Are you curious about how past dynamics have shaped your current tendencies and preferences? Do you feel stuck in a self-defeating pattern; aware of the problem but unsure of (or unprepared for) the changes needed to feel fulfilled?

In every individual's life, the therapeutic journey can often resemble navigating a maze. Along this winding path, we may at times feel adrift, but it is within these very moments of vulnerability that we discover the potency of authenticity, affirmation, and connection. When we embrace the tapestry of our differences, we unveil the resilience that diversity brings. It is from this understanding that I've dedicated my practice to serving the often marginalized – be it the Latino community, the LGBT spectrum, or those embarking on non-traditional relationships.

Our perspective is that everyone's life has a story, and therapy is a way to identify and change that story to fit with your goals and values. Seeking therapy can be difficult, and we enjoy supporting people in finding their narrative and re-writing it the way they desire to fit their needs. As strength-based and client-centered therapists, we believe that meeting people where they are enables them to feel at ease and supported in the process. Helping others identify their innate strengths and using them is a large part of my philosophy. We are an anti racist practice and pride ourselves on being able to serve BIPOC populations.

I am a Sex Therapist and LCPC providing psychotherapy services to adults. I believe that all individuals have the power to create change in their lives. I work with people to build insight, explore their lived experiences and understand how these experiences intersect to inform thoughts, emotions and behaviors. Through this process, I assist clients in identifying patterns in their life that may no longer be serving them. My therapeutic approach is grounded in an integrative application of Psychodynamic and Existential Therapy. I have received advanced training in Sex Therapy from the University of Michigan.

Authenticity, compassion, and empathy are qualities that I try to embody in both my personal and professional lives. As a therapist I aim to help you examine challenging parts of your experience (internal and external) and decide what you would like to do about them. No matter what you are going through, therapy can help you live a more fulfilling and purposeful life (as defined by you).

It's okay to talk about it. Life brings unexpected and difficult challenges that leave us feeling lost and unsure. Grief, trauma, relationship struggles, life transition, work-related issues, addiction, existential or spiritual doubts, and persistent feelings of guilt, shame, and inadequacy. These experiences can be demoralizing and defeating but also provide an immense opportunity for change and growth.

When we are able to truly understand ourselves and our relationships, we can build a life of genuine meaning and connection. Many people enter into therapy only to find themselves gaining small amounts of insight that produce little or no changes in their life. My therapeutic methods produce results that not only change the way we feel about ourselves in the world but change our behaviors. I am respectful of the fact that everyone's pace and tolerance to different interventions varies. My work is reflective of the care and respect I have for each and every client as individuals.

I love working with people of all cultures who have histories of trauma and addiction and who want to make pivotal breakthroughs in recovery. I work best with patients who engage honestly, directly and courageously; welcome challenges; and want to thrive. We discover and nurture strengths borne of struggle. I specialize in culturally responsive group treatment of trauma and addiction, relationship issues, family dynamics and multigenerational legacies. I empower patients; we tap into their insight, intellect, creativity and spontaneity. I enthusiastically welcome Black, Brown, Indigenous, and other People of Color to my practice.

My ideal client might struggle to claim who they are and express themselves. This client might be accustomed to running away from themselves and life, numbing out with behaviors like restricting/binging food, substances, sexual acting out, pornography, compulsive spending, excessive exercise or seeking a partner to be the solution. I would love to help you stop avoiding yourself and release the illusion of control that these behaviors offer, to shift gracefully into the swing of life as an authentic you. I work well with those who are seeking spirituality, improved connections, body acceptance and relief from trauma symptoms.

You are the most important person you will ever meet. Why not be on good terms with yourself? I view therapy as a relationship between two people devoted to facing the deepest truths of our lives so we can be healed. I believe that coming to know ourselves and understanding why we suffer leads to genuine change, a return to health, and gives birth to a more authentic life. In therapy, we discover that we heal through relating, because the wounds that occurred in relationships must be healed in a relationship. For what was unbearable when alone, becomes bearable when shared.
