Being a trauma informed therapist, I'm certified in EMDR and trained in TF-CBT.
Do you feel overwhelmed, weighed down and stuck in place at times, like you know what you should do, but don’t have the motivation to make it happen? This is the effect ADHD, depression, anxiety and trauma can have on people, and you’re not alone. As your therapist, my goal is to make you feel heard and understood. Together, we will address your concerns by understanding how your thoughts, emotions, and physical health effect one another. We will seek to understand the underlying source of your symptoms and discover coping mechanisms that work for you through exploring your strengths, interests and support systems.

To help you heal and initiate change in your life, I incorporate a variety of theories and frameworks based on your needs such as the psychodynamic, attachment, and feminist models as well as EMDR, DBT, ACT, and Internal Family Systems therapy (IFS).
Do you ever struggle with setting boundaries or prioritizing your needs in relationships? Do feelings of guilt or shame keep you from being vulnerable? Do you ever find yourself feeling anxious or depressed but can’t understand why? Trauma can sometimes have the ability to impact our thoughts, feelings, and relationships. As a trauma-focused therapist I have a thorough understanding of not only the impact trauma can have on a person’s life but also a person’s capacity to heal from trauma. I practice within a relational approach to therapy based on the mutuality, respect, and collaboration within the therapeutic relationship.

Thank you for checking our profile! We love our work and we are very committed to providing services that promote dignity, and respect. We are very intentional about creating a space where all parts of you (your ancestors, the systems that shaped you, your otherness) are welcomed and seen. Over the last eighteen years or so we have learned wonderful therapy approaches such as EMDR, somatic work, CBT, Sandtray, Theraplay, ACT, and others. We understand that each person needs to receive an individualized approach and this involves going beyond Western approaches... Our family legacies, our ancestors, our history matter....

I’ve received specialized training in Sex Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Ego-State/IFS Therapy, and EMDR.
Eroticism is adult play: ideally it is expansive, vibrant, joyful, and stress-free. Living in a sex-shaming society damages our ability to have a loving, easy relationship to our erotic, sensual, and sexual identities. That damage can lead to conflict and disconnection with ourselves and our intimate others. Our relational health is a necessary ingredient in our overall life satisfaction. We long for our intimate relationships to be a safe haven from the stress, overwhelm, and chaos of our lives. When that isn’t the case, it can lead us to feel lost, uneasy, and wondering how to find our way back to a feeling of security.

If appropriate, I can help you with traumatic experiences using "parts" work or EMDR.
Hello! I am Rebecca, a therapist practicing in Illinois. In 2013 I graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology with my Master's degree. I received training in EMDR by the EMDR Institute. Currently, I practice 100% telehealth, so we can work together no matter where you live. I see clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, life changes, grief for the loss of a human or pet, and trauma. We all make changes when we are ready. Change can be difficult, and I will move with you at the pace you need.

I am also fully trained in EMDR.
I currently specialize in supporting neurodivergent queer emerging adults as they navigate the anxieties and stressors of late stage capitalism. I particularly enjoy working with late-identified/diagnosed autistic adults or self-identified autistic emerging adults. I also work with trauma survivors, people with chronic illnesses and pain, and LGBTQ2IA emerging adults. I am sex/kink/polyamory-positive, body-neutral, and sex-worker affirming. I strive to acknowledge and to combat the systemic impact of White supremacy, including its relationship to fatphobia, transphobia, and ableism.

I am EMDR certified.
Every person deserves to be valued for who they are and where they are in life. Life challenges can lead us to feel disconnected from ourselves. There can be great value in reclaiming our entire selves, with all we have been through and currently face, while stepping into the unknown. Being truly witnessed can help us reconcile our realities, regain hope, and remember our gifts. I wish to honor your life by offering a warm, accepting haven for you to exist, unpack, discover, heal, and co-create your life in light of who you are and the unique opportunities and challenges you experience. You deserve to feel at home with yourself.

I practice mind-body connection modalities like EMDR and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP) that bring long-standing relief.
I found myself drawn to Wibeto Practice at a time when I wanted to collaborate with other practitioners in a space that values integrity, equality, and serving the whole person - not just viewing people as a diagnosis. When I work with clients, I use different therapeutic frameworks and a strengths-based approach to identify windows of opportunity that integrate one's inner healing intelligence with new knowledge and skills. Together, we can work to create better solutions, possibilities and pathways. Even after twenty years of practice, I am still amazed by the human capacity for self-healing.
