I can help individuals, children, and families make those connections as we work collaboratively through Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), as one way to identify, challenge, and replace thoughts that bear upon one's mood negatively, through various evidence-based modalities.
I am passionate about assisting others as they draw meaning in their lives and seek to establish relational support when faced with adversity. Oftentimes it is difficult to connect from the inside out and from the outside in when we are hurting. Many individuals are longing for someone to hear, care, and validate their feelings. I have worked with diverse populations with a myriad of mental health challenges, and have come to an understanding that hurt and pain knows no race, creed, or ethnicity; we all share in these throughout our lifetime.

My therapeutic orientation consists of EMDR therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and The Gottman method.
With all the stressors in our society today, you may benefit from a caring clinician who can be a main source of support and offer effective therapeutic treatment. I believe the most important element in a therapeutic relationship is empathy and rapport. I try to understand your world and the experiences that you have had and be empathetic, because only then can we process your emotions and perspectives together. I hope to help you reach your goals while offering a supportive and safe environment.

I have specialized training in CBT for Insomnia (CBT-I).
Do you find yourself trapped in cycles of rumination or anxiety? Do you go out of your way to avoid feeling sadness, grief, discomfort, or shame? Are you struggling to take steps forward? Are you where you wanted to be? As Mary Oliver said, "Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine." For most of us, life requires some amount of pain. Without help, our difficulties can feel unmanageable and all-consuming. My role is to hold compassionate space to sit beside you in discomfort, and when it's time, consider a new way forward.

I gravitate towards a humanistic style of counseling while utilizing cognitive-behavioral tools in order to give clients research-supported, “take-home” coping strategies.
I have had the privilege of working with children, adolescents, and adults of all backgrounds coping with a wide range of concerns ranging from depression and anxiety, to trauma and PTSD. I believe that one of the most powerful approaches to overcoming life’s tricky obstacles is resilience, and that working with my clients from a genuine and supportive place of connection is the key to overcoming even the most difficult of times.
