There is so much in the power of therapy as a process that invites curiosity, creativity and play. I prioritize the innate ability to express vulnerabilities and needs through non-verbal, auditory, kinesthetic, and visual ways which I process with dance/movement therapy, sensorimotor therapy, TF-CBT, and other creative therapies. I strongly believe in the transformative power of art, especially for those who haven't found the language or words to express themselves yet. Dr. Nakshabandi draws from 10 years of psychiatric training experience across a wide range of settings including Harvard Medical School, The University of Chicago, The Department of Veterans Affairs and over 40 different sites across two continents. Dr. Nakshabandi has extensive knowledge on a wide array of therapeutic techniques, medication management algorithms, and complementary approaches to treatment. His treatment approach is rooted in empathy and strives to heal by evoking it.

My goal is to support my clients by providing a safe, accepting environment for self-exploration. I am caring and authentic and strive to create a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients as we move together toward achieving greater harmony and balance in their lives. I have close to 18 years of experience working with children and adults and enjoy helping individuals with issues including self-esteem, relationship difficulties, depression, life transitions and identity. I recognize that insurance is not an option for everyone and offer a liberal sliding scale for my clients.

It is common for human beings who experience trauma and life stressors to feel like their lives are unraveling. My passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience and also improve their lives. I enjoy working with adults of all ages. As someone who has faced many adversities, life challenges, has had their own struggles with physical health and mental health – I completely get how hard it is to not only ask for help but the challenges and the courage it takes to be vulnerable enough to ask for help from others – even, from yourself. I acknowledge that one’s healing journey is not linear because it takes time, work, having plan B when plan A doesn’t work out, having plan C for plan B, etc. Most importantly, the need to develop some kindness and compassion with yourself to work through feelings or experiences that feel complicated, messy, or misunderstood.

With her background in School Psychology, Pamela knows exactly what data schools need to qualify students for supports. Who better to advocate for your child than someone with intimate knowledge of school politics, who can cut through the red tape and represent your child’s needs? Her goal is to empower you to find your voice at the IEP table. Pamela’s approach to advocacy is child-centered, data-driven, and collaborative.

I specialize in working with young adults, women, individuals with disabilities, and marginalized/disenfranchised populations. My goal is to help clients discover and build skills to live a satisfying life through strength-based and solution focused interventions without overpathologizing the human experience. North Shore Pediatric Therapy has two neuropsychology testing centers, one in Naperville and the other out of our Des Plaines center! Our pediatric neuropsychologists include Dr. Greg Stasi, PhD (pronounced "Stacy") Dr. Rhiannon Law, PhD, and Dr. Angel David, PhD. We have an Autism Testing Clinic which was set up explicitly for children who have suspected autism spectrum disorder.
