Hello, my name is Diana Kotis-Harber, LCSW. I have over 21 years of providing mental health services, including all areas of practice. I prefer to build rapport with my clients by allowing them to share what their treatment goals and focuses are while reminding them they are the experts and partners in our therapeutic relationship. I am dedicated to helping people grow and become their most successful and authentic selves.

As a highly experienced clinical social worker, my goal is to bring my wide-range of experience with therapeutic modalities and diverse populations to capitalize on your strengths and hope. As a licensed clinical social worker with 25 years of experience in mental health, I have worked with a variety of populations in multiple settings, including outpatient, inpatient, residential, judicial, and educational. As a psychiatric social worker for a large medical system, I provided direct service to individuals struggling with a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress, and relationship and parenting issues. My collaborative, problem-solving approach to working with clients helps them better understand, navigate, and overcome the challenges of life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and received my Doctorate in Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology in 2003. I have been working in the mental health field in various capacities, including community mental health, college counseling, group practice, private practice, and substance abuse treatment since1996. Twenty years of experience in this field has not only strengthened my skills, but continues to ignite my passion for working with individuals on the verge of self-exploration and change. I pride myself on being down-to-earth, relatable, and nonjudgmental in order to create a therapeutic environment that allows patients to express themselves.

I approach therapy with positivity, mindfulness, humor and goals. I am a certified substance abuse counselor and an EMDR trained clinician. I also incorporate spirituality to holistically treat my clients mind, body and soul. My clinical skills are rooted in CBT, DBT, Psycho-dynamic and Motivational Interviewing.

I specialize in working with people who have experienced trauma. Trauma can leave a person feeling numb, disconnected as if your life has been turned upside down. I would like to assist you with your healing journey. My focus is a Holistic approach to helping people recover and heal after a traumatic event and learn new ways of coping and managing their traumatic responses. When someone does not heal from a traumatic event, they can develop Post Traumatic Stress disorder (PTSD) depression, and/or anxiety.

As a clinical psychologist, I have spent my career specializing in relationship and family issues, different phase-of-life transitions and substance abuse counseling. My passion and focus is the issues that arise as couples and families manage transitions through the family life cycle.
