I specialize in working with Anxiety and Depression, Relationships and Dating, Break-ups, Life Transitions, Self-Love, Maturation, ADHD Management.
“If you want to go quickly, go alone. But, if you want to go far, go together.” Life is like an arena, and sometimes we want to throw in the towel. Sometimes we don’t see ourselves where we want to be in our lives or careers. We have habits we can’t break. Our relationships leave us frustrated. Or they don’t exist at all. We’re tired, lonely, and overwhelmed. Maybe it seems like the only one to blame is ourselves. But… We Always Have A Choice! It’s my mission to help you learn to take the reins of your life. Together, we will maximize your chances for success, your sense of fulfillment, and your freedom to choose for yourself.

As a clinical psychologist, I also have specialized training in psychological assessment, including evaluations for ADHD, learning disorders, personality and socio-emotional functioning, and clarification of diagnosis.
We all experience moments where our emotions may feel overwhelming, managing stress becomes more challenging, and we may even find ourselves feeling stuck as to what comes next. Throughout my work with adults, teens, and children, I have seen how psychotherapy has improved their moods, relationships, and self-confidence, leaving them feeling more connected and satisfied in their daily lives. Therapy is a space where you can begin to explore yourself, while doing so within a relationship that is validating, supportive, and centers your goals and needs.

I have a special interest in working with creative people (both professional and amateur artists, writers, academics, musicians, etc.); people who have experienced religious trauma; and those navigating the waters of midlife. I have over 10 years of experience working with queer and trans people, whether they are coming out, transitioning, or just in need of a place where they don't have to explain themselves. I have sat with many clients living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and PMDD; and with those who need an intentional and fiercely compassionate space to learn more about themselves, others, and the world.

My work often focuses on how transitions through emerging adulthood, new/changing relationships, and parenthood intersect with anxiety, depression, ADHD, communication/social challenges, and more.
I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families who are seeking greater self understanding, meaning, and connection in their lives. My hope is to build a relationship with you that is personal, genuine, and centers your needs and goals; whether that is related to stressors and worries, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and more. This foundation can allow us to recognize what patterns, cycles, and blocks you might be facing, what change can look like going forward, and how to achieve that.

ADHD Therapists

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
