So, you've already done the scariest part of this whole process, which is deciding that you want support and taking action. That takes incredible strength and humility, even if you may not feel that way right now. From here, it's my job to work together with you to find ways to channel that strength towards the goals you have and help reframe the way you're approaching challenges through support, humor, and compassion.

You ask yourself, are you finally ready to start therapy? Yes! But - oh no, what it’s going to be like? What do I talk about?! It's okay to be unsure what it's all about or how to get the conversation going. My primary goal is to provide you with a comfortable space where we can explore your concerns together. I find traditional approaches are most effective when personalized in coordination with other mediums like art and music. Throughout our therapeutic journey I will tailor my approach to meet you where you are at. ! For Quickest Response Time Please Email !

My ideal patient would be someone who has realized that something in his or her life seems to not be working in the way that person has expected or wished for. That individual would be thoughtful and open to exploration and discovery of previously unknown factors that may be interfering with life. I also have a strong belief in each individual's ability to discover for oneself what fits best for him or herself. It is my job to help my patients come to recognize their ability to find what that may be.

Are you hoping for a therapist that can really help you with living a more satisfying life? Are you ready to stop struggling with anxiety? A key element to therapy that all my clients should feel is a comfort and safety in our sessions. I believe that is one of the keys to quality therapy and lasting change. I believe an essential catalyst to therapy is one's willingness to gently pull back the layers of their being to discover who they are at their core. Therapy is a collaborative process and I want to join all my clients as they take steps towards a life that is constantly moving towards emotional and physical well being.

I work with clients navigating ADHD, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, & life transitions. I also enjoy working with movement-based artists and therapists. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, & holistic—I strive to cater my skills to meet your specific needs. Often, I integrate my background in dance/movement therapy to help you process emotions, gain insight, & move towards the growth that you seek. While movement & creativity are helpful tools, I understand they can be challenging & am here to guide you. My hope is to help you find deeper comfort in yourself while finding a supportive space to explore your world.

My personal approach to treating clients will always be laced with good will, humor, openness, and collaboration. Just as there are a range of people with different personalities and different challenges, there is a range of therapeutic approaches I will utilize that best suits you and your needs. In my experience, therapy is a fresh oasis for you to digest, express, and confront obstacles while enhancing your quality of life. I do not believe that therapy is a one size fits all or linear process. Therapy is a collaborative experience that develops a variety of skills for the client to build fulfillment, confidence, and joy.

Many aspects of life can be difficult, recurring and even intolerable. Hope or hoplessness may have led you to seek therapy, in pursuit of changes that continue to mystify you. Therapy can offer support in making clearer sense of what it is you are experiencing in your life and relationships, working towards adjustments that create new possibilities and insights. Sometimes things don't change, though, and you may have to contend with that powerlessness too. In therapy together, we can use our working relationship to explore challenges and hopes you are facing, developing new capacities for navigating life and relationships.

Do you wonder if therapy will actually make a difference with your anxiety? Have you been in therapy before but it didn't create lasting change? The word "therapy" can cause a lot of different thoughts for people. I believe therapy is a place to understand the different patterns our minds have created to avoid pain. They often work well, but only in the short term. These patterns have usually been created from an earlier time in our life. However, they are now causing us more problems than solutions as adults. Understanding these parts of ourselves can create change that lasts long term and reduce the hamster wheel of anxiety.

I work in a group practice, Individual and Family Connection, where we work with children and parents, offering them the support they need to better understand their child, or help them through a difficult time. Children communicate their needs and struggles through behaviors, which can feel overwhelming or confusing to the parents trying to help them. I assist parents in exploring the meaning behind these behaviors by taking time to reflect on the relationships, interactions, and caregiving responses to improve the overall quality of the relationship.

The children, teens, and young adults who work with me want a therapist who sees them as individuals, not just diagnoses, and who offers a compassionate and non-judgmental space for healing and growth. Many of my clients and their caregivers desire a therapeutic approach that goes beyond surface-level interventions, delving deeper into the complexities of their inner worlds and fostering authentic connections that facilitate meaningful change. Parents that are struggling with understanding and addressing their child or teens needs also appreciate the insight, education, and support I give to them in the therapeutic space.

Our bodies carry a multitude of experiences, memories, and traumas. Sometimes the things our bodies carry start to impact us in ways we never expected. As a bicultural, bilingual Mexican American therapist I am aware of the various barriers that may stop us from engaging in our own healing journey. For this reason, I have a passion for working with clients who are navigating the pressures and expectations that come along with being first-generation, transitions throughout the perinatal period, breaking generational trauma and clients who are experiencing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and complex trauma.

Therapy can truly change how you see yourself, how you feel and how you experience life. It is a wonderful process, and I love my work as a therapist. I work with individuals who are facing issues of depression, anxiety, grief, life transition issues, and relationship issues. I also work with couples who are seeking to improve communication and connectedness in their relationships. My style with clients is warm and interactive. I am very involved in the therapeutic process, and view it as an active dialogue where we are working together towards your goals.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
