Folks come to therapy for a variety of reasons but generally are hoping to develop a relationship in which they can show up and talk about what really matters to them. Within the context of this respectful, safe, and confidential relationship, I will help you to examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interacting to keep you stuck.

I pursued a career in therapy because I believe that holistic healing is possible. Taking care of your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual wellness, enables you to take care of others, and live a life of joy. With a background in the arts, storytelling, and visual media, I integrate the power of story in the narrative of your life, past present and future. Where are you right now? My work experience has spanned a variety of settings, through which I developed a strong clinical background rooted in ACT, DBT, and mindfulness-based approaches.

Trauma and grief can be some of the most complicated life experiences an individual could go through. Since grief and trauma can take on many forms, they can be challenging to process no matter when they occur. These experiences can lead to a long list of feelings such as pain, frustration, vulnerability, shame, and loneliness. While grieving does not get easier with time, time allows for the adjustment of your new normal. Within my clinical foundation, I gravitate towards incorporating mindfulness and strength-based practices within treatment.

As a couples and sex therapist, I work with clients who find themselves at a crossroads in their relationship, facing challenges with communication, intimacy, or sexual satisfaction. They come to therapy seeking a safe space to explore their concerns, rebuild trust, and rekindle passion, with a commitment to mutual growth and long-term relationship health. My role is to guide them with compassion and expertise, helping them achieve a deeper, more fulfilling connection. I specialize in providing a non-judgmental environment where couples can address relationship challenges, communication breakdowns, and sexual concerns.

We want our lives and life itself to have value, meaning and purpose; and finding or creating these things for ourselves can be confusing, frustrating and even scary. However, finding our deeper reason(s) in life can also be rewarding, exciting and empowering experience that provides the hope, courage, strength and tenacity needed to face life's challenges. Having the courage to begin this process and asking for support along the way doesn't mean you're weak, it makes you strong!

Our early childhood experiences lay the foundation for how we perceive ourselves, others, and the world. In many instances, difficult developmental experiences can impact our ability to live meaningful and satisfying lives, and it is my goal to help individuals recover from the pain of their past. I have a passion for working with individuals who look to learn more about themselves, and desire to grow mentally, emotionally, relationally, and spiritually.

According to my mother, my first word was "why." Why is the sky blue? Why can't I have a cookie for breakfast? Why are people hurting? This curiosity is integral to my work as a therapist, as I strive to understand my client's worldview and the problems they are facing. I have over 34 years of helping people dealing with trauma, relational issues, family of origin issues, depression, anxiety, cultural adjustment and re-entry issues. transitions, and healing from abusive relationships.
