I became a therapist due to my deeply-rooted empathy for people of all ages experiencing the various challenges of life. I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, young adults, and parents at all stages of their therapeutic journeys. At the beginning of treatment, I focus on creating a solid therapeutic relationship and meet clients where they’re at so that they feel safe to explore, grow, and find empowerment. I utilize a relational and trauma-informed approach along with a variety of other evidence-based modalities to assist clients in achieving their goals. We can work on creating goals together.

I am an inclusive and compassionate therapist who works with clients ranging from young adults to elders navigating the effects of trauma, grief and loss, and identity issues/exploration with a particular affinity for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community. I have extensive experience supporting clients in non-traditional relationship structures such as polyamory and consensual non-monogamy through an affirmative, kink-aware and sex positive lens. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I bring a personal understanding of the unique forms of trauma that can affect members of our community.

We all deserve to be happy and fulfilled in our relationships. However, healthy and meaningful relationships do not come without work. Whether it is with your intimate partner, friends, family or coworkers, the quality of our relationships has a direct impact on our mental health. I help individuals understand how their past experiences, sometimes traumatic, impact their present struggles related to anxiety, stress or depression, and often interfere with their ability to cultivate and maintain relationship satisfaction.

Choosing to begin therapy shows incredible inner strength and a desire to invest in yourself. This investment will allow you to understand all parts of yourself, establish authentic connections with others, and voice your needs in ways that can be heard. When you can do this, you are able to manage the staggering complexities that exist within life, as well as find joy in the process of living.

As a therapist I believe the most important thing I can emphasize in the relationship is autonomy. Addressing the shortcomings of the profession in the past I seek to create a collaborative environment where you as the client understand where our work is going and that it can be addressed at any time. I have an interest working with clients dealing with trauma, clients from the LGBTQ population (in particular the transgender and transgender non-binary experience) and couples. I hope to provide clarity and a greater understanding of your emotional world and what options you have to become the person you wish to be.

All people have THAT moment. The big one, where we question if we are with the right person. We find ourselves loving someone, but falling into a pattern that we can't find our way out of. Communication, betrayals, falling out of sync, the fights that lead nowhere, someone shutting down, lack of emotional or physical intimacy, or not seeing eye to eye on important issues are all reasons people can benefit from an intensive look into their relationship. You want your person to be "your" person again. To love openly with affection, but also with the ability to resolve conflicts is what I wish for each couple I work with.

I often say it is my job to help make life better. Whether you are worrying too much (anxiety), feeling sad (depression), or dealing with trauma, I will do just that: Help make life better. I have experience with children, adolescents, adults and families and have worked in both the school system and in full-time private practice. My style is practical, and focuses a lot on coping mechanisms and strategies. I have had much success working on a variety of issues as noted below. I enjoy assisting in the progress and achievement of attaining goals. My COVID mission has been "always an opening" and now have associates too!

Is your sex life not what it used to be? Are you struggling with a sexual problem and have no idea how to address it? Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected and generally unsatisfied in your relationship? Living with sexual and relationship problems can feel stressful, embarrassing and frustrating. You're pre-occupied by "what if" questions that end up keeping you stuck in a spiral of anxiety, fear and distress. You never thought your relationship or your sex life would feel this way, and you're seeking support and guidance on how to feel more connected, fulfilled and understood. Why? Because you deserve better.

I have worked in the mental health field for over a decade in many different capacities. I have specific training around the areas of trauma and abuse, although I take a holistic approach to counseling. I work with clients to meet the goals that they have for their lives, whatever those may be. My goal is to foster a strong trusting relationship with clients so they feel comfortable expressing themselves without fear of judgment so they can work through the change process. I work to empower clients to utilize their strengths to overcome the challenges that bring them to counseling.

Through more than 20 years of experience, I have worked extensively with individuals, couples and multi-generational families providing treatment for a wide range of conditions that affect mood, thinking, and behavior. I grew up in a large & humble home; learning and understanding the complexities of dealing with different types of personalities, sometimes in difficult circumstances at an early age. My goal is to see clients do amazing work in treatment by strengthening their coping skills, removing limiting beliefs, resolving conflicts, and lifestyle changes through a positive way of thinking, feeling, and behaving.

So, you're feeling disconnected from your partner & intimacy & sex feels like it has become a casualty of time, grind culture, managing life expectations &/or resentments. Jumping from one task to the next with convos regarding logistics seem to be the main topics of communication. Parenthood has led to a decline in energy & an increase in frustration in your relationship & you would love to get back to the "I can't get enough of you" days with your partner. Support around navigating mismatched desire, rebuilding trust and intimacy, enhancing communication & repairing after conflict are some of areas that feel important to work on.
