Possibly one of the most overlooked yet effective approaches to taking care of yourself is the simple act of listening–listening to yourself, listening to your body, and having someone you trust listening to you. Listening is where I like to start – to ensure that before anything else, I take the time to understand who you are. Each individual takes a unique path and one of my goals is to embrace that in a collaborative and open treatment experience. I take a nonjudgmental and empowering approach to ensure that my clients are strengthening their sense of self while acknowledging the past and present challenges.

ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS: Asking for help takes great courage and strength. By even looking at this paragraph, you are displaying that very strength and resilience that will help you to heal what ails you and achieve your goals. As a therapist, I am here to recognize the strength in you that you might have forgotten or even struggle to see. Some may think their problem is insignificant, but reaching out to speak to someone no matter how big or small, is a step. It is my hope that you will allow me the chance to be your partner in that journey.

The therapists in our practice joined together because of our shared belief that our clients, who have reached out for help in managing and overcoming the challenges their lives, each have a unique set of strengths that often need to be better understood and developed. In our own styles, we each use the therapeutic relationship to understand what is interfering with an individual's sense of fulfillment in life. We approach therapy from the perspective that, at our core, our clients are health seeking but may be repeating old patterns that are not serving them well.

Take a moment to acknowledge the courage it took to get here. It is possible to find clarity in the midst of what may feel like chaos, and this is the first step. There is a part of you that wants healing, comfort and understanding. Maybe a harsh inner critic, past trauma, relationship difficulties, life transitions or general “stuckness” have brought you to this point. All of who you are is welcomed here.

I strive to empower my clients through radical compassion, curiosity, collaboration and gentle redirection to help them feel confident in navigating life’s challenges. I aim to create a soft landing place and an opportunity for those who experience the brunt of systemic oppression—BIPOC (Black Indigenous People of Color), poor, women, queer, trans, diversely abled, and in larger bodies to name a few —who’ve felt rejected, judged, misunderstood, invisible, and outcasted because of their identities—to lay down their armor, tend to the wounds they’ve sustained, and further uncover who they are when they aren’t in survival mode.

Do you or a loved one experience and express emotions differently from others? Hyper-focus on interests in a way that allows for a state of ‘flow,’ but pulls from responsibilities and loved ones? Take in more sensory information than others and sometimes get overloaded by it? Has anyone ever suggested that you or your loved one might be Autistic or an ADHDer? While there are many strengths to neurodivergence, there can be difficulties due to living a world that is not designed for or accommodating of different neurotypes. It can also be difficult to know how best to support our loved ones who are Autistic or ADHDers.

It’s been said a thousand times, but parenting really doesn’t come with an instruction manual. Whether it’s navigating sleep issues, disruptive behaviors, or big emotions (the child's or their own!), parents often feel overwhelmed and under-resourced. I help parents develop their own “instruction manual,” one that's tailored to their unique set of strengths and challenges as a family.

I can help you get off that annoying wire hamster wheel you've been running around in, watching the wheels spin faster and yet going nowhere, staying stuck. When we get caught up looking for answers and solutions, we feel hopeless. It's easy to forget that we humans are strong, brave, and resilient beings, capable of growth and change. In treatment, I will join you in facing the challenge of letting go of the search for answers or a quick fix, in favor of finding freedom and fulfillment in life.

When someone makes the choice to enter therapy, they do so with courage and strength. I am honored each time a client is vulnerable and allows me to help them on their journey back to themselves and their own personal power.

To me, therapy is a way to share stories. They're complex and nuanced, informed by the systems we exist within and the identities that make up the multitude of our whole. I have experience working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, and disordered eating. We can work together in the therapeutic space to spend time exploring these stories and understanding how they impact your life and how to develop tools to make things feel more manageable. It is my goal to create a safe space free from judgment where we can explore, learn, and grow together.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents. I am particularly interested in helping families and schools work together to support students with unique learning needs as a result of emotional, cognitive, and behavioral difficulties. I utilize a cognitive-behavioral and problem-solving approach, as well as, narrative principals to assist clients with addressing the various challenges they are facing. I believe that therapy should be a safe and reclaiming space where strengths are built upon and challenges are addressed side-by-side.

INSIGHT, SKILLS, SUPPORT. Strength-based. Solution focused. I work with clients of all ages using cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based therapies along with guided imagery, dreamwork, and art. I believe that mindfulness can help to reduce negative thinking, worrying and self-criticism. These are bad habits - and they can be changed. I am skilled at teaching children/adults how to be more mindful instead of getting caught up in harmful, unproductive thoughts that lead to self defeating actions.

Taking the step to begin (or revisit) therapy can be stressful and nerve-wracking. It often requires bravery: a willingness to go within to explore one’s values as well as one’s struggles. However, it can be the key to unlock tools to live a more meaningful, authentic, and happy life. Through therapy, we will work together for you to feel your best and cope with the ups, downs, and everything in between that life presents. My areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, self-esteem, life transitions, family conflict, infertility, perinatal support, and women’s health issues.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
