I feel that much of the work of psychotherapy takes place in the context of the relationship. To that end, I endeavor to create a safe and supportive environment within which a productive working relationship can develop. In this relationship, clients can expect a balance of empathy, respect, and gentle encouragement to do the very difficult work of healing, personal change, and growth. This approach to therapy has enabled me to work successfully with a diverse group of individuals with an array of clinical presentations.

I'm a therapist primarily working with children, teens, and parents. I have expertise in child development, childhood mental health, emotional, behavioral, and relationship issues. Emotional conflicts in children can get in the way of their development and be a source of stress for the family. I provide a safe and empathetic environment where children and teens can express themselves, gain self-awareness, and work through their conflicts. I help parents to understand the meaning of their children's behaviors, emotional life, and manage daily behavioral challenges.

I provide individual, group, and couples therapy for adults. I specialize in working with anxiety, relationship challenges with family, friends, partners, etc., self esteem, and trauma. I view therapy as a collaborative process, where clients and I work together to explore themselves, understand connections between their experiences and how they think, feel, and behave, and utilize this information to create the change they want in their lives.

I see life as a series of moments in which we have opportunities to access, build, and reimagine various aspects of ourselves. Sometimes the events in our lives and the world around us can feel turbulent and overwhelming and on other occasions, we might feel a bit stuck. Navigating those challenging circumstances often leads us to unearth and tap into our personal and collective skills, strengths, and resources. As a part of your support system, I will provide a space where you can authentically express yourself, explore the vision for your life, and cultivate the skills and strategies to achieve your goals.

In order for us to grow, we must challenge our preconceived notions of self and experiences, as those are what shape our truths. We are not alone, even when it feels as if we are. We are connected to the thousands of lives that have touched ours and have had a hand in creating who we are. I approach my work through a systemic lens, in other words, I see the world as a huge ball of yarn. Those strings are our connectedness, the relationships we hold that connect us to our culture, our family, our history, and our future.
