Healthy relationships, children, parenting, and families are my passion. In addition to having a set of 20-year-old twins and 16-year-old, my husband and I also have a toddler. This, together with my almost 25 years in practice and specialized certifications, allows me to work alongside you on life stressors such as family court, custody, and family/divorce mediation/parent coordination concerns as well as the issues of anxiety, trauma, depression, eating disorders, body image, and family/marriage issues.

Whether it is past or current trauma, struggles with who we are, moving through a life change, or difficulty in a relationship, I am here to help you find your way.
I believe that therapy is the most successful when there is a trusting relationship between the therapist and the patient. In order to establish a connection, I strive to meet my patients where they are through providing an open and safe space which allows them to freely express themselves without judgment. We all have a story to tell and every story is different. Often times, between the lines of the story lies the clarity that allows for healing and forward movement. My goal is to read between the lines and help patients fill in the blanks.

I have been involved in therapy with individuals and families faced with circumstances brought on by emotional, mental, and physical trauma for over a decade.
The recipe for successfully discovering your freedom from the pain of disappointment, trauma, and fear in your life and relationships is a unique combination of privacy, safety, nurturing, education, and therapy. Success often requires the right guide to blend these ingredients just how you need them to create a life that gives you joy. Joy is the name I was given at birth, but it’s taken me many years (just the right amount) to discover that my name is also my calling, a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I work with anxiety, trauma, relationship problems, self-esteem, family-of-origin concerns, adoption, and more.
Has your life taken an unexpected detour? Maybe it's a chaotic relationship, unrelating anxiety or navigating difficult family dynamics. Whatever your struggles might be, fighting these battles on your own can be difficult, painful and sometimes overwhelming. However, there is an incredible amount of power in a strong therapeutic relationship where you can process life with someone who desires to fully understand you with a lens of compassion and empathy. I have North Carolina & Illinois locations.

Feeling stuck, sad, lost, overwhelmed, drained, or confused? Repeating the same patterns and want things to change but don’t know where to start? Let’s be honest, sometimes life can be great and sometimes life can really suck! Dealing with day-to-day struggles or past hurts can be emotionally taxing and often prevents us from being the person we want to be and live the life we want to live. The good news is you don’t have to navigate life’s complexities alone. My goal is to assist you in meeting your practical goals leading you to a more manageable and fulfilling life you can find enjoyment in.
