I joined mental health work to help. I am a blingual (Spanish) therapist who provides therapy online. I have been through very hard and humbling moments, and I am glad someone was there to help me. If you are feeling sad, anxious and angry and you feel that you can't take anymore, there is hope. We all need help at some points to get out of a dark place. Stigmas sometimes prevent us from seeking help, but I can assure you that it is okay to seek it. Life can be very hard and overwhelming, but it does not have to stay that way. My job will be to help you find answers and to find love for yourself and happiness.

Reaching out for help is often the hardest part and each client is different in their own ways. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative process in which the client takes the driver's seat, as they know their life better than anyone else. Our own minds can sometimes be our worst enemies and add daily life stressors into the mix..life isn't always simple and easy. I want to help clients sort through the messiness of life and help them get back on track to their goals and dreams while encouraging positive self-growth, self-image, and self-esteem.

Greetings and thank you so much for considering me as your mental health practitioner! It can be hard to be brave in our world, and that includes seeking help from others. I like to look at counseling sessions as a gift of time for yourself. Our time together would be about you and your needs, and figuring out ways to heal or get there. I look forward to creating a trust-filled, healthy relationship to assist you on yourself. At times, therapy sessions may just be a backboard for you to comfortably release stress or inner thoughts. My approach in therapy strives to be strength-based, empowering, grounding and calming.

I incorporate a variety of approaches from strength-based to CBT, to best fit the presenting client.
Struggling to communicate with a loved one? Having trouble sleeping? Can’t seem to find the motivation to complete daily tasks? Various challenges in life can lead us to feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or BOTH. Therapy can provide a safe space to process, cope, and heal. In life, we may struggle to see how our environments, upbringing, and relationships impact our mental health. While other times, we may lack the appropriate self-tools to change our own dynamics. Therapy empowers us to be more self-aware and protective of our mental wellness.

I believe that you are more than a diagnosis, disorder or disability. I would like to work with clients who are open to explore their history, make connections to the present, and prepare for the future. My ideal client is willing to be open and honest during the process of therapy, and use the safe space as a way to learn and grow. I would like to collaborate with individuals who are open to be challenged and do the work outside of therapy that will help them commit to life-long changes. As a self-proclaim foodie, I am also looking for clients who have interests in food and how our food consumption affects our mood and behavior.

Strength-Based Therapists

How does strength-based therapy work?

During strength-based therapy sessions, the therapist will ask about an individual’s experiences of stress, pain, or trauma with the goal of orienting the client to view themselves as a survivor rather than a victim, and focusing on their strengths rather than on their weaknesses. In framing a client’s personal narrative along these lines, the therapist and client work together to identify existing skills that can be harnessed.

Is strength-based therapy evidence-based?

Strength-based therapy is an evidence-based treatment that has been studied extensively and shown to be effective across domains. The treatment has been found to be particularly effective in helping individuals who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, and other mental health concerns. Strength-based therapy has been used by therapists to help clients for more than 60 years.

How long does strength-based therapy last?

There’s no precise timeline for strength-based therapy. The duration of treatment depends on the individual’s specific needs and goals and the severity of their concerns. Some individuals may find they achieve their therapeutic goals quickly, while others might benefit from ongoing support and guidance in order to continue progressing.

How effective is strength-based therapy?

Clinical research and decades of practice have shown strength-based therapy to be an effective treatment to improve mental health and well-being for many conditions. The treatment can engender a sense of connection and collaboration between the therapist and the individual, fostering a positive therapeutic relationship. For individuals with narcissistic tendencies, strength-based therapy may be less effective, as the focus on the individual’s strengths may undermine the work needed to honestly assess the challenges the individual faces.
