Overwhelmed. Things did not go the way you hoped, and now you are left feeling stuck, disconnected from yourself and others. Or perhaps you can’t pinpoint what went wrong, but you find yourself constantly on edge, your mind racing and jaw clenched. You sense that you were made to live more fully than this but can't seem to find your way.

Together, we'll explore the impact of early relationships on your life, creating a safe space for unraveling and transforming past wounds. Your unique narrative is valued here, and together, we'll navigate the complexities of your experience with compassion and support.

Do you feel like you're stuck no matter how hard you try to move forward? Our brains can leave us feeling like we are at the mercy of our past. When disturbing or traumatizing events happen, those events can become locked in our nervous system as if we are frozen in time with all same uncomfortable feelings. People, situations, or events can subconsciously trigger those stuck memories leaving you feeling anxious, paranoid, irritable, depressed, or otherwise fearful without an obvious cause. Together we can heal your trauma and allow you to move on from your pain.

My areas of clinical interest include trauma, the brain/nervous system and neuroplasticity, and helping anyone who feels alone and stuck get more connected and unstuck.
Feeling anxious, stuck, alone, burned out, or misunderstood? Need change, to establish reconnection, or an unbiased ear? Counseling can help with that! We can develop ways of being and doing that served a purpose for us for a season that are no longer working for us now, causing dysfunction. We can form new ways of being and feel safer and more connected with ourselves, our surroundings, and others. A previous career in occupational therapy has given me insight into the brain-body connection and compassion for those experiencing medical frustrations. I also have prior experience with and passion for college student mental health!

I have worked with a variety of issues including mood disorders, trauma, abuse, addiction, and involvement with the child welfare system.
I know what it feels like to be stuck & to feel like life is not as meaningful or beautiful as you thought it would be. Maybe it's hard to remember the last time you laughed freely or felt fully alive. Maybe the past keeps creeping up into the present. These are the times to reach out for help. If this is you, I’d like to help you start that journey of healing, awareness, understanding, and hope.

Openings for morning/afternoon appointments available now! People enter therapy for various reasons, from anxiety, stress or depression to trauma. Others are curious to discover more about themselves to improve their relationships and inner self. Whatever your circumstance is, therapy can be the first step in an empowering journey. One way to alleviate common and uncomfortable emotions is by identifying the root cause and processing events using evidence-based modalities, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and/or Brainspotting.

When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
