Marilyn Ferri, MS LCPC received her Masters Degree from Illinois State University in 1994. She is a licensed clinical professional counselor in the State of Illinois with over 25 years of experience working with older teens, emerging adults, older adults, couples, and varying multicultural backgrounds. Marilyn incorporates evidence and research based therapeutic approaches which promote clients' healing processes by using mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, rational emotive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, and client centered therapeutic approaches.

Using an eclectic psychotherapy approach to address unique client needs, Inna helps clients and their families overcome impulsive, self-destructive behaviors. Her strategies enable people to better manage anger, cope with depression and anxiety, overcome addiction, promote personal growth, and exude higher levels of self-esteem while living happier, more successful lives. Inna integrates cultural fluency, her diverse understanding of cultural intelligence and interpersonal communications in multiple languages allows her to conquer barriers associated with cross-cultural differences.

My areas of focus include but are not limited to, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, alcohol/drug and other process addictions, relationship issues, life transitions/adjustments, interpersonal concerns and faith based counseling. I specialize in treating men/women from dysfunctional families who have anxiety/depression as a result of their upbringing. Treatment interests include Adult Children of Alcoholics, family dysfunction, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma. I utilize a direct interactive style contingent on the clients' needs. I help clients understand their emotional "blue-print" and create new learning and choices. I work with emotionally distant individuals, building communication skills and a positive sense of self. I have a special interest in men's issues, including difficulties expressing and understanding emotions and anger management skills

I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (Psy. D.), a Masters of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology, and 7 years of experience working as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). I have conducted treatment for individuals, couples, families, and groups. I have extensive expertise in clinical psychopharmacology, which enables me to comprehend the biological foundations of diseases. I have experience working with both adolescents and adults to address a wide range of illnesses. I take a holistic approach to counseling, which means that in addition to ACT, DPT, CBT, and mindfulness, I use a combination of other techniques.
