Hi there! My name is Diego, and welcome to Strength Within Counseling. I understand that opening the door to vulnerability and self-exploration can be intimidating. Many people face overwhelming issues like anxiety, depression, and life changes, often compounded by not knowing where to start and feeling alone in the process. Everyone deserves to be seen and heard without fear of stigma or judgment. As a humanistic, person centered counselor, my approach focuses on each person’s unique strengths, helping them discover their inner potential for growth, healing, and self-acceptance.

I am an EMDR, APSATS, and EFT trained, Counseling Intern working toward completing requirements for a master's degree in Counseling from Hope International University. I work under the supervision of Stephanie Baker at Restoration Counseling. There are three things that I would like you to know today. You are not alone. You are not broken. You are not out of control. This means that there are others out there who have been where you are. There is nothing fundamentally or irreparably wrong with you. You have agency in this world both internally and externally. Change is possible. I'm here to help.

I enjoy working with clients who are motivated to change behaviors that are not working. I work to empower clients to make necessary internal and external changes to become more self aware enabling them to live in peace and integrity. Moving from the problem to the solution is the goal.

My training and experience focus on fully engaging clients through client-lead therapies, and through the philosophy that clients need to possess lasting habits and tools that bring success to every-day life.

I believe a strength of mine is connecting with clients (both adolescents and adults) that may not be sold on the counseling process. I believe in creating an environment that fosters genuine care and compassion, in turn creating a relationship of trust with my clients. It is there where healing and growth can begin. Often times we are never challenged in a way that gives us a true understanding of self or given the opportunity to truly live a life that is not shackled by fear and anxiety and are left with a life lacking purpose and meaning.

My viewpoint is everyone needs support in life. I've been able to support people through relationship changes, job transitions and loss of loved ones.
