I have worked as a Marriage and Family Therapist for over 21 years with adolescents and adults in private practice, community mental health and correctional settings. Aimee is a psychotherapist, educator, group facilitator, and mentor. She was selected as a fellow for the National Board of Certified Counselors for one year, which she was extensively trained in many areas pertaining to different minority groups. Aimee developed a strong awareness of the needs and development of children and teens through a decade of being a teacher. Aimee’s approach to counseling focuses on mindfulness, self-compassion, sand tray and internal family systems. Aimee creates a safe therapeutic setting for every client using a variety of therapeutic approaches and collaborating with clients.

My passion in life is working with people, and as a Marriage and Family Therapist I have received unique training to help individuals, couples, and families improve their relationships and establish a heart at peace.

My goal as a counselor is to provide a safe, comfortable environment to build a trusting relationship with my client. I am flexible for each individual client. I value the ability to listen to a client without any predetermined goals of my own. The client goals for treatment are determined by the client or a collaboration between the counselor and client that is acceptable for each client. I hope to guide a client toward progress through personal exploration and encouragement. My personal faith tells me God is our only true healer. I love to include faith into the healing process when it is requested.

In our time together, I will be your biggest advocate and encourage you to be your most authentic self. Often the things we are wanting to ignore are the things causing us the most shame and discomfort. I believe in looking at those parts of yourself that you often want to neglect and build a new relationship with them. While difficult at times, we will approach these parts with grace and understanding.
