I have extensive experience working with individuals families and couples impacted by trauma, co-dependency, addiction and co-occurring disorders. Having worked in residential drug and alcohol treatment for over 10 years I bring those years of resources and compassionate experience to my work. My focus on family systems and attachment allow me to treat the entire family, offering the best possible outcomes. I am a Certified Trauma Specialist, a Gottman trained couples therapist and I am one of the few therapists working with Internet and Gaming Addiction.

I am a dedicated clinical social worker with expertise in the specialized areas of trauma, LGBTQI+ issues, and relationship dynamics. My practice encompasses working with individuals, couples, and families, addressing a wide range of concerns, including but not limited to PTSD, neuro-diversity, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

For the last twenty years, I have worked in the field of mental health, special education, and substance abuse treatment. I have a passion for helping people navigate life's challenges. My approach is down to earth and inviting, and although I am a general practitioner, I have an affinity for working with adolescents, couples, and families.

For many of us, it is hard to ask for help when we really need it. Many say that is due to a sense of pride or just plain stubbornness. Realizing we cannot move through the world alone is scary. It can be even more terrifying to be vulnerable with another person. Through that vulnerability comes growth, and watching my clients move through this process is my favorite part of the job. By building and fostering a therapeutic relationship we can help identify core problems, set goals, and find ways to help you be your best self.

Many have been helped who suffer from anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress, phobias, and depression. Medical problems are treated including tension headache, migraine, chronic pain,irritable bowel syndrome, chrones disease, MS, Lupus, arthritis, fibromyalgia, stress and immune system insufficiency. Addictions are treated including including sex addiction, addiction to pornography, cyber-gaming, food and nicotine addiction. Also treated are adult children of addicts, and personality disorders. Treatment methods include a solution focused, brief therapy that include cognitive behavior therapy, rational hypnotherapy, bio-feedback and brief, gestalt therapy.

Elena is experienced working with individuals on the Autism spectrum, and has a passion for transition youth at risk. With strength-based interventions she hopes to empower her clients to their fullest potential; adding in play therapy, somatic approaches to foster an engaging and accepting therapeutic environment. With the four languages she speaks, she hopes to continue to bring access to counseling services to various communities in need by proving Telehealth to clients living in rural areas.

For as long as I can remember, I have been drawn to work with teenagers. Since obtaining my Masters of Social Work at the University of California, Berkeley in 1987, I have worked with teens in multiple settings. I have discovered that counseling can help teenagers with the most important tasks of adolescence. I work collaboratively with parents towards the primary goal of seeing their teenager launch successfully into adulthood. I am direct and honest and emphasize accountability and personal responsibility. I have found that teenagers appreciate that approach.

Alec's educational journey began at Boise State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in communication. Through his studies, he honed his ability to connect with people, effectively convey ideas, and truly understand people's stories. He strives to create an environment where individuals can explore their potential, overcome challenges, and set out on a path that aligns with their authentic selves.
