As a member of the LGBTQ+ community I invite you to be courageous and work to start your journey towards becoming your authentic self. Gaining insight into your life can be a complicated process. Most people experience challenging times when dealing with change. Harriet Lerner once said, "What will never change is the will to change and the fear of change. It is the will to change that motivates us to seek help. It is the fear of change that motivates us to resist the very help we seek." If you are feeling a need for change in your life, I invite you to start the process of therapy to change your direction in life.

My ideal client is anyone of any age, background, or concern who is ready to have a safe space to work through their past and present, and move toward the future. You may have been working through things alone and area ready for help on your journey, or you may just be noticing that things are feeling too hard or too heavy to deal with alone. As long as you are ready to step into a safe space, and start the process, I am ready to help!

Who is that someone in your life that slows down to listen and has a desire to deeply understand what you are going through? I aim to be the nonjudgmental person that can hold space and the figurative mirror that allows you to gain a greater understanding of yourself and your life experiences. I enjoy working with teens and adults (individuals and couples), aiding them in processing relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, trauma, anxiety, and/or depression.

I believe that in therapy, the focus should first be on learning to gain acceptance of ourselves. I feel that our beliefs about ourselves are paramount because they shape the beliefs that we have about other people and in turn, the rest of our environment. After we identify the beliefs about ourselves that need to be adjusted, we can work on how to improve those beliefs, which will improve our interactions with others and the way that we see the world. I look forward to helping others with that process.

As you look for a therapist you might feel very vulnerable, desperate, or fed up with your struggles. I want to help you, whatever your motivations are and however ready you are to change, whether you’re wondering if there’s a problem, you feel lost and confused, or you’re ready to change and you want to start today. At the beginning you might need a safe, accepting presence to help you view yourself clearly and with kindness. You might need someone to help you break free of painful patterns, sort out your feelings to make a tough decision, or make changes you keep trying to make but your efforts never seem to stick.

I enjoy working with clients of all ages, genders, orientations, and backgrounds as they navigate through the challenges of life. I believe that everyone's story is unique and that it needs to be told in a comfortable and safe place, free of judgement. Many of the clients I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, vulnerable, afraid of making changes, and/or wondering how they will make it through the unexpected changes they are faced with. Some have experienced trauma. I help clients understand why they are suffering from certain symptoms as well as help them identify maladaptive thinking and coping skills.
