I work with different methodologies and techniques to make it more individualized towards the needs of my clients.

Currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Integral & Transpersonal Psychology, which focuses on enhancing the needs of the mind, body and soul by integrating Eastern and Western philosophies of mental and emotional health. I really enjoy working with people with diverse backgrounds and life stories. I have much experience working with those who struggle with PTSD, grief and loss, depression, anxiety-based disorders, spiritual distress or confusion, LGBTQ+ community, and more.

Counseling is a pretty scary idea. Often, the clients that I work with have not experienced a safe relationship in a long time. The idea of sitting in a room and sharing your life story with someone seems like a recipe for betrayal and pain. At some point, though, the need for healing outweighs that risk and you choose to start working towards wellness. It is an uncomfortable, heavy, and ultimately extremely rewarding journey. I am licensed in Idaho and Oregon and am doing Face to Face and Telehealth. I am located in Boise, Idaho. The last 15 of 25 years in the field have been focused on Substance Use Disorders, Trauma and Military Issues. I have been given the opportunity to be certified in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Psychology and have a solid back ground in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family and Couples work, Personality Disorders, Depression, Narrative Work and Grief Counseling. I primarily have experience working with adults through a wide range of life stages and with diverging ability statuses. Currently, my focus is working with adults and late teens through various presenting concerns, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.

I use a strengths-based approach in therapy and believe that an important part of my role is to provide a safe environment and to work in partnership with clients to build a trusting therapeutic relationship. Welcome. I am your body positive, fat liberation, feminist therapist. I work best with binge eating, bulimia, and body image disorders. Disordered eating patterns are exhausting, and eventually create a disconnect from the body you inhabit. Your body is the greatest resource you have! I work from mostly somatic lenses, and the goal of somatic therapy is to reconnect back to yourself. Examples of somatic therapy is being asked questions such as, "What color is your anxiety?" or "What does your body need to feel safe right now?" Your body will talk to you; I will help you hear what it has to say.

We know life is a journey full of surprises, both good and bad, and rarely includes instructions. Together, we build a positive and therapeutic relationship to help navigate life's journey. I enjoy walking alongside clients struggling with the aging process, their relationships, their boundaries and self worth, and tender childhood wounds. When these don’t align, there is an incongruence that rattles our inner world. My desire is to assist adults, adolescents and children 6 and older, to find peace. I enjoy all ages because of my work with children & adults for 20 years. I served 10 years as a Children’s Pastor, and I continue to believe that every age is important. Therefore, I chose to pursue counseling to help every individual pursue healthy mental health.
