As you look for a therapist you might feel very vulnerable, desperate, or fed up with your struggles. I want to help you, whatever your motivations are and however ready you are to change, whether you’re wondering if there’s a problem, you feel lost and confused, or you’re ready to change and you want to start today. At the beginning you might need a safe, accepting presence to help you view yourself clearly and with kindness. You might need someone to help you break free of painful patterns, sort out your feelings to make a tough decision, or make changes you keep trying to make but your efforts never seem to stick.

Hello, I am glad that you're here. My name is Chelsea, I earned my Masters Degree in Social Work from Boise State University. My focus of study during my Masters degree has been around anxiety, depression and addiction. From my previous internships I worked with social workers to help veterans secure housing, emotional and mental stability and locate internal and community resources. My training allowed me many hours of clinical experience working along side highly skilled counselors and providers to help individuals struggling with addiction and trauma. Additionally, much of my training included working with children and families.

I use EMDR and talk therapy to assist each person to build insight and awareness and help you live your best life. I specialize in trauma, for some it's a single traumatic event and for others it can be multiple smaller events. These issues often present as depression, anxiety, lack of motivation or choosing to keep busy all the time. Please feel free to message me to ask about the process or set up a consultation.

From the moment I discovered what counseling really was, I knew it was my personal and professional calling. Since that time I have had a wealth of experiences that have confirmed that being a counselor is simply what I am meant to do. Winston Churchill once said, "If you're going through hell, keep going." What better way to get through dark times in your life than to bring along someone who is dedicated to keeping you from getting stuck there?

I believe that in therapy, the focus should first be on learning to gain acceptance of ourselves. I feel that our beliefs about ourselves are paramount because they shape the beliefs that we have about other people and in turn, the rest of our environment. After we identify the beliefs about ourselves that need to be adjusted, we can work on how to improve those beliefs, which will improve our interactions with others and the way that we see the world. I look forward to helping others with that process.

Currently accepting Emergency Responders (Police officers, Fire Fighters, and Paramedics) and Military Members for individual and couples counseling. My passion is supporting those who support and serve our local, national and global community, with an approach that is direct, educational, and humorous (Okay, attempts at humor.) From 2008-2014 I worked across the US, Europe and Japan, as a rotational counselor supporting military. It was a difficult choice to leave that work, but since my return to Idaho, I've really appreciated still being able to serve by supporting our Idaho's Emergency Responder community and Military.

I was originally trained as a generalist therapist. This means I am able to work efficiently with a wide range of clients. My specialty is with those who have faced identity based trauma. Identity based trauma includes experiencing trauma on the basis of being in a marginalized community such as race, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.. I also specialize in workplace fatigue/stress. I acknowledge our society encourages a growing list of demands with little compensation or value to care/rest. I help these individuals find a balance in their routine.

Your thoughts about food and wanting to change your body feel constant. Binge eating by the end of the night may feel inevitable. You continually compare your body to others and to the times when you were thinner. You have high expectations for yourself but feel like it's never good enough or that you are failing. Family members may be expressing concern for your well being, or maybe they have no idea how much you are struggling. Issues with binge eating, body hate, bulimia, or anorexia can feel like they're taking over your life.
