I love working with teenagers and adults struggling with various types of mental illness and in general the stressors of living.
In my 11 years of experience as a counselor, I understand how challenging it can be to ask for help. I want to work together towards your goals. My role is to create a safe and warm environment for clients who are going through challenges. My office is a space that provides privacy and confidentiality. I enjoy working with different types of people and have facilitated support groups for women and LBGTQ communities. My focus is on wellness and hope for a healthier life. I am down to earth and grew up in a small town. I stay away from using clinical language and use humor when it is appropriate.

My graduate training and professional experience focused on assisting adolescents and adults with processing trauma, behavioral health management, crisis stabilization, and relational skills.
I support teens and adults struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, and self-acceptance. I value helping folks learn how to rewrite their stories by discovering their purpose, strengths, and skills to help them reapproach their relationship with their painful experiences. All are welcome here! In this space, I invite folks to show up as their authentic self in a place of acceptance and safety for all. That being said, my office is LGBTQIA, size-inclusive, and culturally accepting.

I bring the knowledge of working with children, teens and adults for over a decade to bear in hopes of providing clients the self-discovery and tools for living that they require to move forward in life happily and healthily.
“Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most massive characters are seared with scars.” ― Kahlil Gibran ― If you are seeking counseling to discover a better way forward, I am here as supporter and guide but you yourself will be the one who will have all the credit for the growth and improvement made during the process. The client's who get the most out of my services put forth the work and are rewarded by their own progress. And its okay to not know the answers to questions but I'm going to challenge you to find out.

I often work with teens and adults regarding concerns related to attachment, trauma, anxiety, self-esteem, and significant life transitions.
It can often feel difficult to cultivate meaningful change in our lives, but I believe it is well worth the effort. Perhaps you are feeling perpetually stuck, scarred from past trauma, bogged down by negative narratives of yourself, or feeling disconnected and lost, but you are hoping to detach from these painful repeated patterns so that you can move forward with the things that are most important to you. Fortunately, you don't have to go the journey alone. Together, we can navigate the challenging path so that you can rediscover your authentic self, develop healthier relationships, embrace the present, and navigate the future.

I work with kids and adults, and also offer parenting workshops throughout the year.
Clients are welcomed into my space wherever they are in terms of understanding, self-awareness, and managing difficult emotions. Sessions focus on the 'here and now' while also exploring historical issues being triggered and mis-managed. We confront irrational thinking and work to re-script the less-than-helpful language around feeling 'not good enough,' 'broken,' or 'lost.' Ultimately, clients can expect to focus on their core issues and will, in the process, come to feel genuinely known, accepted, and not so alone in the process of their lives.

If a child with a learning problem is not remediated by the 2nd grade, they will possibly have these same issues all their lives. It is sad for a spouse and children to see their family member struggling with memory issues. Is it dementia or is there something else going on? Do you wonder if a family member is depressed or has a bipolar disorder? Are they overly anxious? Do they hate school or life? Find out what psychological issues are going on so they can be treated. Children can be diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder by age 2. Adults may have autism too.

My practice includes working with adults in an individual setting.
Life is hard. None of us get it right all the time. My goal for the therapeutic relationship is to provide you with the awareness and skills you will need to achieve the level of functioning you desire. I believe my job as your therapist is to work myself out of a job - by teaching you what I know, helping you apply it, assessing the results and adjusting where necessary.

I enjoy working with adults, of all ages, through relationship and life transition issues – such as young adults entering a confusing world; and those challenged by ever-changing roles and phases of life.
Life and relationships can be difficult and messy. At times, help is necessary to find clarity and direction as we move toward the healthiest version of ourselves. My goal as a therapist is to provide a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard as we work together to address the issues which brought you into counseling. Building on professional and personal life experiences, I engage in counseling collaboratively with acceptance for who and where you are while building a therapeutic relationship which becomes a catalyst for change. I utilize an eclectic theoretical approach which best meets the needs of each individual.

Helping adults cope with challenges ranging from job to relationship issues, pain and addiction management, mood disorders and trauma (war, abuse, grief, accidents, changes in health).
Disaster strikes and suddenly your well ordered life turns upside down. How do you put the pieces back together? Maybe your life has been stuck for some time like a black cloud within creating fear and despondence. Perhaps your concerns center around your children and how they are coping with life. No matter how hopeless you feel or how dark your situation, freedom and hope are waiting for you. I believe effective therapy shines light in areas where you are stuck and provides synergy for change.
