The clients I work with benefit the most when they embrace the comfort and discomfort that comes with building a therapeutic relationship. Reading all the blurbs is an excellent way to get brief insight into the character of a potential therapist, but whether or not someone will be a good fit is a difficult question with so many options. We know the relationship you build with your therapist is the largest indicator of success. With that in mind, go with your gut! Enjoy the process and embrace the change or help you seek.
I specialize in Somatic Psychotherapy. Similar to traditional talk therapy, this body-oriented approach to psychotherapy is gaining a lot of traction, as it helps people feel more in contact with themselves and others. Whether remote or in-person, learning how to understand what we are feeling can transform our interactions and get us out of feeling stuck.
I enjoy the work I do, and I hope you find a therapist that enjoys it too! Find out more about my methods and rates by visiting my website (www.ianmackelvietherapy.com).
