Working from an integrative depth psychological perspective, Amanda helps couples and individual adults deepen and navigate their everyday lives in a conscious relationship with their inner selves and their inner callings. Her patients often begin therapy with issues related to depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties and unintentionally making choices that keep them stuck. They desire more clarity about the cause of their persistent mental, physical and emotional symptoms in order to experience more freedom in their daily lives. Ultimately, her patients seek more meaning in their lives and are willing to take steps toward it.

I am currently accepting new clients. Are you feeling overwhelmed and disconnected? If you find yourself merely going through the motions of life, feeling like each day is a struggle, it's time for a change. Whether you're battling with anxiety, self-doubt, or navigating through family problems, you don't have to face it alone. In therapy, we'll explore your values, helping you reconnect with what truly matters to you. I have a niche for working with caregivers (educators, helping professionals, medical professionals, parents).

Do you want to make changes in your life? I want to help you explore your options. I want to help you become the person you want to be. We live in a very complicated and changing world having to navigate many different situations and experiences; that we don't always feel equipped to handle emotionally. I believe we are all here on this earth to help each other and my goal is to help you become the best you can be.

Currently accepting new clients. Early-bird sessions available. You’ve got a lot going on. You get up every day and handle your responsibilities, but you worry constantly, second guess yourself, and have persistent negative feelings. The people around you may not even realize how much you’re struggling. This is not the way you thought life would be. Having someone to talk to can help.

I currently work for Catholic Charities and have done so since 2007. I have been working with children, adolescents, couples, and families for nearly 30 yrs years who are experiencing acute or chronic mental health issues. Some of those issues include but are not limited to: grief/loss, life stressors/traumas, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, behavioral issues in children, and ADHD. When I ask my client's what they are hoping to gain from therapy, most will summarize that they simply want to feel better! So that is what we (you and me) will set out to accomplish.

I provide a nonjudgmental safe space for those looking to lessen anxiety, get to the core of pressing difficulties, learning to love yourself, and connect to your inner being. My approach is not a "one size fits all" method and is client-led. My goal is to guide you on reconnecting to yourself and building your self-trust so that you can get unstuck and create your own happiness. My therapy approach is soul-centered, client-focused, human-focused and these benefit clients in that they feel heard, seen, connected, in the midst of chaos.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
