I work with children, teenagers, and adults with a variety of struggles including autism, ADHD, attachment, trauma, anxiety depression, PTSD, and more.
Sometimes we need help creating a safe space where we can be open and honest while we make sense of an event we want to resolve or our lives overall. Sometimes we need help to heal and someone to simply hear our story. A story filled with our experiences in the world and shaped by perceptions that are human-naturally distorted and flawed. People begin therapy for various reasons, yet wanting change is universal and desiring authenticity is the heart of this path. It is not about being happy, better, fixed. You are not broken. Healing reveals your authenticity and allows you to become... it feels like peace, bravery and truth.

There are times when we are faced with events in life that are beyond our ability to fully recover on our own. Together we can explore the roadblocks that prevent the healing process. Our experiences from the moment we were born shape our perceptions about life and self. Over time we become conditioned to exist in our environment. This conditioning is usually grounded in fear. That fear is usually grounded in distorted perceptions. Lasting change comes from the conscious challenging of those old distorted perceptions of ourselves and the world we live in and finding truth about who we really are.

I currently work with adults navigating issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, interpersonal relationships, attachment issues, self-esteem, boundary work, and identity development.
I believe to fully understand another person and what they’re struggling with, we must understand their environment and lived experience. In therapy, we will explore how various systems and environments have impacted your lived experiences and in turn, how your experiences have shaped the way you think, feel, and act. I believe we must truly know ourselves in order to grow and thrive.

I have experience treating behavioral and emotional concerns including trauma, ADHD, ODD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, and adjustment to life changes.
I am a licensed independent social worker and I currently provide therapy to kids ranging from ages 4-17. Children may display concerning behaviors and emotions such as a refusal to comply with expectations, inattention, impulsivity, a withdrawal from things they previously liked, excessive worrying, or being overly sensitive to different stimuli in the environment. These behaviors can negatively impact their relationships with parents and/or caregivers, siblings, teachers, and friends both at home and in school.

My clients struggle with anxiety, burnout, trauma, or how their ADHD shows up in their lives.
I specialize in working with millennial professionals who look like they have their shit together, but in reality are overwhelmed by their anxiety and the weight of feeling like a "failure." Together we can help you dial down the anxiety and impact of ADHD. While we're at it, we can ditch the perfectionism and people pleasing, because your wants and needs are valid. We can even help you learn to accept yourself for who you are, instead of judging yourself based on your productivity.

I utilize different therapy techniques to individualize therapy to each unique person, and work to add some fun and humor along the way.
Life can be hard. Maybe life stressors are feel too much, worries are feel uncontrollable, you feel 'meh', or relationships aren't going as planned. Having someone to talk through things can help. I strive to create a safe space for clients to feel accepted, supported, and heard so they are able to process challenges, changes, or past experiences and find their path forward for healing. I believe therapy is best done by meeting clients where they are, recognizing their strengths and understanding how their experiences have shaped them and using this to support client's in reaching goals.

When should I seek treatment for ADHD?

You should seek treatment for ADHD if you consistently have difficulty with attention, hyperactivity, or impulsivity that interferes with your daily life. Symptoms of ADHD include the inability to sustain attention during tasks, difficulty organizing tasks and activities, being easily distracted, frequent fidgeting or squirming, and talking or interrupting excessively. If these symptoms interfere with your career, academics, or relationships—for example, consistently failing to complete professional projects on time—you should seek an evaluation for ADHD.

How does treatment for ADHD work?

Effective treatment for ADHD often consists of medication, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. Stimulant medications such as Adderall and Ritalin work by altering levels of neurotransmitters in the brain; higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine are known to improve attention and focus. Therapy works by helping people with ADHD understand the condition, discuss their areas of difficulty, and develop behavioral strategies to manage their symptoms. In some cases, modifying one’s diet and exercise can also help improve symptoms.

Are there specific medications for ADHD?

Medications to treat ADHD are generally stimulants, the most common are Adderall and Ritalin. There are two categories of stimulants: Amphetamines include Adderall, Dyanavel, Vyvanse, and Dexedrine, and methylphenidates include Ritalin, Concerta, Daytrana, Focalin, Quillichew, Quillivant, and Metadate. Non-stimulants and antidepressants may be used as an alternative if stimulants aren’t effective or viable for a particular patient.

How long does treatment for ADHD take?

It’s tough to give an exact time frame because everyone varies. In terms of medications, stimulants begin to work very soon after you take them, generally within the hour. It may take time to identify the right medication and dosage, but the medication itself is fast-acting. In terms of therapy, it takes time to develop skills and put them into practice, but you will likely see improvements within a few weeks or months.
