I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Iowa. I received both my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. I currently work with ages 10 and older on presenting concerns such as life transitions, difficulties with adjustments to life experiences, anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship difficulties, and traumatic experiences. I often work with clients who are ready to dig deep into the 'why' behind their symptoms and engage in the 'how' of working through their experiences.

As a therapist, one of the essential parts of my work is to provide hope that there is an opportunity for change in everyone's life through positive relationships. I strive to build therapeutic relationships in a safe space for the clients I work with to promote growth and healing. Therapy is an act of courage and self-advocacy to explore the uniqueness and depths of the human experience. It is an act inspired by curiosity and growth, aimed to guide you through your evolution to become whoever you want to be. It is a tool for humans to utilize as a way to explore the depths of who they are, work towards a narrative that aims to accept themselves as who they are, and work toward evolving into the vision of who they hope to be. I believe that most clients have what they're looking for when they walk through the doors. Therapy is a tool used to excavate and nurture what they already possess.

Life's journey is full of detours, bumps, and obstacles. Seeking guidance allows for support through these challenging times. In addition to traditional therapy, I can provide animal-assisted therapy and enjoy working with animals as part of the therapy process. My dog Lana, a golden retriever, is presently in training to become a therapy dog. When Lana’s training is complete, we will be a therapy team providing animal-assisted therapy and animal-assisted play therapy. There is a body of research supporting animals in therapy to enhance physical, emotional, and social well being, and I strive to do just that.

Hello! Thank you for considering me to be with you in this process. My style is genuine and warm, while supporting clients to make small shifts that can create big changes. I believe the person seeking therapy is their own greatest resource – that each person has the innate and internal wisdom to navigate pain, and to find a place of peace and strength while healing from emotional wounds. I believe healthy relationships are essential to our health as human beings, and that it is possible to work toward repairing ruptures that have occurred in relationships. I celebrate all forms of diversity and promote justice and equality.
