You really can have your cake and eat it, too! You can learn to enjoy food guilt free and stop avoiding mirrors. Hating what you see in the mirror directly affects how and what you eat, creating emotional eating and periods where you don't eat at all (or only very little). This fosters a fear of food, not trusting yourself around food, and a desire for more self control or willpower. I call this the diet roller coaster and it's not a fun (nor healthy) place to be. Let's get you off the diet roller coaster and end your history of yo-yo dieting.

Life can feel overwhelming at times and it can also hold meaning. Although both can be true, making sense of it all while maintaining a secure connection with others is not an easy balance. Genuine and authentic relationships offer the unconditional support that is essential in building the foundation we need to explore who we are, what we value, and how it all impacts the lives of the ones we love.

Welcome! If you're feeling frustrated, hopeless and tired of being stuck in the same patterns, then therapy may be a helpful step for you. I use EMDR and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy to process anxiety, depression and trauma-related experiences initially through the body then work to understand how thoughts and actions may be keeping you feeling stuck. I also work from a HAES and Intuitive Eating approach because hating yourself more will never help you develop the respect and care you need to make lasting changes. I accept BC/BS and work with 14 and older. Please reach out with questions!

It’s hard to keep it together, right? Between work, kids, and relationships, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and under-resourced. Talking about it can be a good first step in marshaling your resources to overcome challenges that make it hard to stay focused on what matters. Whether it’s issues with a partner, stresses over parenting kids, stepkids, or grandkids, or simply feeling stuck in finding the next step in your story that brings you in, I’d be honored to hear it. I bring a lively, empathetic approach to sessions and focus on helping you find strategies to move forward while taking stock of where you've been.

My treatment approach addresses a variety of conditions including anxiety, depression, addiction, stress, life transitions, trauma, PTSD, divorce, grief, anger management, OCD, and ADHD. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) that I use to reprocess trauma and treat OCD, self-worth, and anxiety. I see children and individuals age 8 through adult.
