My name is Irene Dashiell, I’m a therapist and I have Cerebral Palsy. As a person with a disability I know firsthand what it feels like to be different and how it feels to be treated differently by other people. And that is why I work with kids, teens and young adults who have physical disabilities, ADD/ADHD, autism and anxiety. So I understand why on Monday mornings you push the snooze button five times and don’t want to get out of bed. As a parent or an adult you just feel exhausted, overwhelmed and don’t want to start another week. You just want to wave a magic wand and have a typical life, but that is not your life!
I offer online counseling for kids, teens and adults. For kids I use online Play Therapy and bring the playroom to them by creating Play Therapy bags filled with toys and art supplies. Kids play out their problems each session by using the toys and supplies in their bags. For teens and adults I listen, support and help them find ways to adapt each day.
I understand that life is a struggle right now and you just want to be happy. I also believe your child or you can be happy and successful in everyday life.
