Suffering. Sooner or later we all experience varying degrees of suffering. The world can be harsh and painful, especially when understanding is hard to find. Sometimes burdens become to great to carry alone. When searching for help you want someone caring to understand your struggle and unique situation. I work with people who are seeking help and treatment with life situations that are causing them distress either mentally, emotionally, physically and/or relationally.
I hold a Master of Arts in Clinical & Pastoral Counseling from Ashland University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University. I have training in EMDR which is useful in treating trauma disorders. Also, I use Gottman Couples Method Therapy with marriage and relationship problems. As a counselor for seventeen years, my emphasis is helping people heal and gain strength through the counseling process.
My own life struggles sent me back to school to help others who suffer with difficult life situations. Working as a manager in the business world, I experienced and witnessed the troubles people encounter and endure in the workplace. The reality of divorce and being a single parent for ten years have given me insight into the pain of loss, single parenthood, and the unique dilemma of blended families. Currently I have been married for over twenty years and have four adult sons and two daughter-in-laws.
