| 日本語 I was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan and am bilingual in English and Japanese. My work as a counselor began in 2017 at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, where I provided spiritual care counseling to a socially, economically, and culturally diverse population. Currently, I specialize in individual and couples therapy, including couples struggling due to cultural barriers. My clinical experience with a diverse population and my own cultural experience as an Asian immigrant affirmed my view that willingness and ability to see through different lenses are indispensable for compassionate care.
I work with trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, and burnout, using the tools and approaches I find effective in my personal and professional experiences. I combine mindfulness with somatic awareness to attend to the body (somatic), mind (cognitive), and heart (emotional) as a whole. It’s designed to reduce distress and process it in a growthful way.
I’ve seen many who found growth and relief in their own inner wholeness regardless of their pain. I encourage you to seek who you are and who you could become on the important journey of going inward so you could go outward.
