Growing up, I have realized that there is a lack of communication, representation, and awareness of the importance of mental health in many Middle-Eastern, Latinx, and Asian households. This leads to many individuals in those cultures becoming oppressed throughout their whole life and experiencing many untreated phases of depression and anxiety without having the opportunity to be heard.
As a therapist, I want to encourage these individuals to have a voice in their household and have the strength and courage to take control of their own lives. Using strategies from the Family System Theory and the Feministic Theory, I will help individuals learn healthy communication, healthy coping mechanisms, and how to properly resolve problem.
I tend to create a friendly yet professional relationship with my clients and I strive to create a comfortable space for my clients to open-up at their own time.
