My experience is working with depression, anxiety/stress, trauma/PTSD, relationship, parenting and family issues, grief and loss, life transitions, and spiritual crisis. Sophia Bullard studied at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, receiving her Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2021 and her Masters of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling in May of 2022. Sophia is currently working towards the LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) credential in the state of Hawaii. Additionally, she has future goals of becoming a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Yoga Therapist. Sophia’s clinical experience stems from working as a counseling intern at various public elementary and middle schools in the Greater Philadelphia area.

As a master's-prepared, pre-licensed Mental Health Counselor under the supervision of Thomas J. My focus areas include women’s issues, substance use disorders, co-dependency, and relationships.

My specialization includes providing relational and emotion-focused support to children and adolescents. I help parents learn effective strategies for managing children's behavior and support children in improving communication and social skills to navigate challenges more effectively. I am experienced in using Parent-Child Interaction Therapy and other skills-based interventions to enhance positive family dynamics. I work with humans of all ages, however I specialize in doing therapy with young people and have extensive training and experience working with childhood (5+), adolescence, and young adulthood. I've had a psychotherapy practice in rural Pahoa for 18 years. Psychotherapy/Counseling works best when clients are met by someone who really cares AND the therapist has a wide-range of psycho-therapeutic skills and Life Experience. I work with anxiety, trauma, depression, bi-polar, grief, coping skills and other challenges. In addition to individual sessions, I offer couples counseling and mediation. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, bipolar and personality disorders, as well as women's issues, domestic violence, substance abuse, and issues involving poverty.

As a counseling professional, she is dedicated to creating a safe space for clients of all backgrounds to explore challenges, overcome obstacles, and achieve their goals. Emily earned her BA from St. Edward’s University in 2020 and holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling Psychology from the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.
