My name is Angela Jackson and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in Oahu, Hawaii, and working with clients statewide via telehealth. I work with adults, adolescents, and veterans with special attention to anxiety, depression, trauma, and transition using an approach that is eclectic and rooted in Solution-Focused therapy to help my clients meet their needs and establish goals. I have come to adopt a counseling approach that is eclectic derived from cognitive-behavioral, narrative, person-centered, and, solution-focused therapies.

Life is a dynamic and ever moving process. As humans, we are constantly driven towards growth and potential, while simultaneously towards defending ourselves from the suffering and pain that so often affect our lives. Psychotherapy offers the possibility of enhancing awareness and understanding of oneself, ones experience of the world, and ones unique style of managing life's challenges. Through the process of effective psychotherapy people often move beyond the removal of problems or symptoms towards acceptance and awareness of self, and further towards actualization of personal potential.

My particular interest and expertise is in challenges faced by couples: cultural differences, issues of step-families, aftermath of infidelity, fertility issues, serious illness or loss in the family, low-sex and no-sex couples, raising adolescents - and empty nest issues... Another area of work is dealing with the dissolution of the relationship - how to say good-bye with dignity, and how to mend a broken heart and renew your spirit, and your joy of life. And of course, if there are children involved, our focus would be on protecting them from the aftermath of the divorce as much as possible.

I view my role as facilitating the recognition and removal of obstacles to personal growth for individuals and families. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, mood, stress and other adjustment-related concerns for adults, adolescents, and children. I also work with couples and families to improve communication and well-being. In addition, I serve as a "life coach" to those seeking overall dream fulfillment.
