I am currently accepting Graduate Students for supervision. Are you struggling with past or current military, childhood or other types of trauma? I have particular compassion and knowledge for those with transgender and sexual orientation issues and with survivors of sexual abuse and sexual assault. I am familiar with the social stigma and trauma that can result from being a person with these issues and have helped many overcome the resulting emotional and psychological distress.

I offer counseling across all 5 counties of Hawaii via phone or video for your convenience. Sometimes we arrive at a point where we know things can get better for us, and I am grateful that we are about to cross paths. I have 11 years of experience working in the field of mental health and I am here to support you in creating a life that you feel passionate about.

Sophia Bullard studied at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, receiving her Bachelors of Science in Psychology in 2021 and her Masters of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling in May of 2022. Sophia is currently working towards the LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor) credential in the state of Hawaii. Additionally, she has future goals of becoming a Registered Play Therapist and Certified Yoga Therapist. Sophia’s clinical experience stems from working as a counseling intern at various public elementary and middle schools in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Grace's focus in treatment is to be client centered and to help support you in accomplishing your goals in therapy. Her goal is to create a safe environment for you to process past or current difficulties, stressors or traumas. Grace has a background working with clients who experience anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, attachment disorders, personality disorders, and have experienced abuse or neglect.

Christin DeCoito, was born and raised in Hilo where she grew passionate about helping others in her community. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools Hawaii, she later received her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology, with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from UH Hilo. She ventured a little ways out of Hilo, where she currently lives on the Hamakua coast with her loving family and growing two little boys. Christins experience stems from working directly with students as a school based behavioral health specialist since 2017.

I provide therapeutic services for individual adults, couples, and children/teens from ages 12 years old and up. Have you ever noticed that thinking about a problem and spinning it around and around in your head gets you nowhere? Talking about the issues helps to give it shape; a beginning, middle and end. It helps it to become something that can be worked on and managed. A huge benefit of talk therapy is that you are working through emotional issues as well as developing tools to help you deal with them in the future. Therapy can assist in helping you understand yourself better and hopefully help you navigate future situations.

My approach focuses on addressing immediate symptom relief and current life problems with an emphasis on identifying underlying emotional causes that may be contributing to these difficulties. My practice presumes that understanding psychological conflicts underlying unpleasant negative behaviors and/or emotions will help people gain important understanding into their current problems and, consequently, lead them to make considerable changes in their lives.

Aloha, for more than 20 years, Iʻve been devoted to serving my community on the Big Island of Hawaii. Throughout my career, my primary focus has been assisting the most vulnerable and at-risk populations who struggle with anxiety and depression. I work primarily with adolescents and adults and always strive to provide safe, compassionate and non-judgmental therapy experiences, where you can feel comfortable being your authentic self without hesitation.

Tyra S. Gardner is a Psychotherapist and CEO of At A Moments Notice, LLC. Tyra is a passionate scholar-practitioner in the field of mental health, who divides her time between clinical practice, training and business consulting. In her clinical practice, she delivers cognitive behavioral therapy and other evidence-based treatments to adults and adolescent clients with a range of emotional behavioral and adjustment problems including anger management, anxiety, stress, depression and relationship issues.

My goal is to provide therapy to children, adolescents, individuals, and families to maximize their happiness and health through self reflection and the development of strong balanced relationships.

G. Francis Giles MSW, LSW received a Bachelor of Arts from Northeastern Illinois University and a Master of Social Work/Clinical Concentration from New Mexico Highlands University. His work today is informed by experiences in geriatric residential care, in-patient adult psychiatric, crisis intervention, school settings, gender identity and orientation, and hospice. I have a humanistic approach to therapy that is eclectic an d holistic in nature, primarily integrating elements of narrative theory, psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy which is grounded in mindfulness.

Petra Parvati Meedt, MS, MA is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern offering telehealth therapy for individuals, couples, and families in English and Spanish. Additionally, to being a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern in Hawaii, she is a licensed psychologist in Puerto Rico, Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) in Texas, and a Clinical Hypnotherapist and certified Yoga Teacher. Her professional training includes a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the Interamerican University, Puerto Rico, specialized in Family therapy and a second master’s degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Freiburg in Germany.

As a dedicated counseling professional, I am deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, and families rediscover their inherent strengths and navigate life's challenges. With a foundation in empathy, respect, and a belief in each person's wholeness, my approach is tailored to support you in reconnecting with your inner resources for healing and growth. My educational background includes a BS in Psychology from the University of Utah and an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Hawai'i Hilo. I am currently advancing my expertise by pursuing a PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Utah.

Talking about sex, relationships, and intimacy can be incredibly difficult. Throughout our lives many of us have been confronted with fear and shame-based messages, inaccurate and harmful information, and often problematic ideas regarding sexuality. These experiences can leave us feeling confused or ashamed, ultimately impacting our ability to tap into our full and authentic selves. Exploring these issues in a therapeutic setting with a trained, sex-positive therapist can be life-changing. A sex-positive framework means that I affirm all consensual sexual activity (or lack of sexual activity) as positive, healthy, and pleasurable.
