I completed my Ph.D. in clinical psychology as well as post-doctoral training in psychotherapy and contemporary psychoanalysis at New York University. I have been in private practice for over twenty years,treating adolescents and adults from a variety of backgrounds. Respectfulness, clarity and directness, tempered by humor characterize my exploratory work. In a flexible and pragmatic manner, I aim to alleviate symptoms and problems in living in the briefest possible time. Although not a sufficient reason to remain in therapy, a regular benefit is the pleasure and pride in an examined life.
I am interested in the arts--where I originally trained. I worked on the Julliard School's counseling service where performance anxiety, competition, and career decisions were frequent issues among musicians,singers,dancers and actors.My private practice has been composed of artists, writers, students and those in the financial sector.
I have taught and supervised doctoral students in clinical psychology at New York University, The City University Clinical Program and at the Externship and Internship programs at the New York Psychoanalytic Institute. I have lectured on child development and consulted with parents of young children.
