My approach to therapy is grounded in empathic support. In our initial session, we will discuss your goals for therapy and a plan to work toward those goals. You are the expert on your life, with the inner resources to feel better and to thrive. My role is to support you to draw upon your inner resources.
I utilize principles from relational and existential therapy, and I am trained in motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have training and extensive experience in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, personality disorders, and substance use disorders.
I welcome clients from all backgrounds and I view the client-therapist relationship as paramount. I provide a non-judgmental, trusting space for clients to express themselves in order to grow, heal, recover, and thrive.
